I made up the thread title, but here is the article below:

Can you walk into business class? | News.com.au

I'm expecting a mixed response here, though I know there are several people who, in principle, support the action brought against the passenger. That's why you need Seinfeld and the locked door approach...

And yes... there's probably more to the story... somewhere....

I thought you weren't allowed to record a conversation without permission anyway, so that could have been the issue with the phone.

As for walking through the cabin, I think through a galley is fine and common sense should apply, but through it inflight seems a little too much.

That said, I've seen F pax walk through Y ;)

The article suggests the problem was not really going into the business class cabin but the FA objected to being recorded.Surely if he was only going to ask whether he could go to the other aisle via the galley there was no need to be recording the conversation.Methinks Mr pollock has not told the whole truth.

Ha ha, love this comment. He/She must be an AFF'r…..

What economy class passengers have to realise is that business class travellers such as myself pay a premium to travel in an area of the aircraft that maintains an enhanced level of social ambience. Business class travellers have nothing in common with economy class travellers. We are attired differently, more often than not we are privately educated, we oppose ink tattoos and we tend to support the social integrity that once existed with air travel before airlines started catering for the mass outer suburban markets. If ECS (economy class syndrome) is allowed to go unchecked on an aircraft, airlines will risk the high yield patronage of people such as myself and my chums
.

Why would he bother recording the conversation if he didn't expect some trouble?

Given speculation is a recognised AFF national sport :), I'm going to speculate that he was indicating to the FA that he was going to ignore the sign no matter what the FA said.

Guilty as charged (but from J usually), I like to have a walk around the aircraft during the flight to stretch the legs

I've done that once. I must admit I got a bit worried as I was approaching the F curtain on the way back that a flight attendant from Y might stop me, thinking I was a recalcitrant Y passenger. Then again, I think I was wearing the F pyjamas...

what a lazy git. Did he not have time to walk the long way around? and his wife didn't sit next to him during the flight? was it because the flight was full, or she couldn't stand him either.

Typical Americans over reacting and encroaching on a persons civil liberties without even giving it a second thought.

Civil Liberties? You mean it's now written into the US Constitution that all Americans have the right to walk through Business Class?

Let me ask this, if a passenger has the right to walk wherever they want on a plane, where does it end? The galley as the crew are preparing meals? The cabin during taxing or take off and landing? How about the cough pit? Where does it end?

Some passengers are just cough, and that's being polite. Some people love pushing the boundaries for the sake of it, without due thought for the wider consequences!

Back in the days of the cruise ships, I believe the different classes were locked away from each other.

As said there is a lot more to this story than has been reported.

So do you mean that pool time is on a rotation type basis.

Y passengers can only use the pool between 10pm and 5am. For some Y passengers that would be fine.
