I booked rewards flights back in July, Adelaide to Paris and returning Edinburgh to Adelaide (both via Mel) with the return in business. The points were debited, paid the taxes and received the tickets via email. Bookings have been showing in Qantas app, selected seats etc.

I've just logged in now and the only flights showing are the QF ADL-MEL and return! Logged in to Qatar and using the booking reference per the tickets and again, only the domestic flights are showing.

Any ideas? I've booked accomodation and coordinated these dates with family so to lose them I'll be shattered. Anyone else having the same problem?

About to contact Qatar

Did you try to and/or make changes to the booking beforehand? There are numerous examples of qantas staff accidentally cancelling award seats inadvertently

You need to contact Qantas if theyre Qantas rewards. Ive had this happen to me, get in contact with them asap

This is everyone's nightmare including mine. Set to travel during Christmas and everything is booked, including a proposal.
I keep checking my PNR to make sure everything is there. Booking travel shouldn't be this stressful but the QF/QR dispute or tiff is causing a lot of people high blood pressure.
Good luck with it, I hope it all goes well. When is your travel date?

Just spoke to Qantas.

Return flight was Edi-Doh-Mel on the 1st of May. We were then staying o/n at Melbourne airport with our flight from MEL-ADL at 8am on the 2nd.

I do remember getting a notification about the QF flight on the 2nd changing from 8:00 to 8:05 and apparently that was enough eject all of the QR segments and leave only the QF showing.

So now Qantas have to contact Qatar and request our seats back, this could take up to 2 weeks. Meanwhile we inch another 2 weeks closer to our departure making rewards flights that much harder to get if I need to rebook.

Very stressed...

Edit - I only stumbled upon this when I logged into my account to check a trip next month. I've not received any emails or calls to say what had happened. Thank god I logged in

I don’t want to upset you further but I would be looking at a backup option. Very real possibility you don’t get the reply you want.
I do hope it works out for you

I can see exactly the same flights still available when I do a rewards search however no business available of course since Qatar seemed to remove all of those a while back.

Worst comes to worst I book the flights again in economy then battle to get points and $ refunded.

What's saying it doesn't happen again though if one of the QF segments changes by a few minutes? Seems ludicrous that a flight on a completely different day could change by 5 mins and jeopardize the whole trip

It does seem crazy that insignificant flight re-timings where the flight number or date or routing does not change should need re-ticketing. It is highly unlikely someone would change their mind about travelling because a flight with no immediate connection would move by 5, 10 or even 60 minutes.

Book the economy backup. Qantas will stuff you around no end and could leave you stranded.
I'd like the points refunded prior to doing that though. And the fees of course

If I did book backups for same date and Qantas by some miracle reinstate seats, can I cancel backups with no penalty?

How much time and effort do you want to invest in getting business class back? I’d book economy as a backup and keep pushing for your original flights to be reinstated. However, there are examples on AFF of Qantas making this extremely hard work. You should decide if you want to fold or fight for what you’re entitled to. On these boards you will find an email address for Stephanie Tully @ Qantas which may be required but in itself, not a quick fix.

I agree book the economy class back up. Dial into frequent flyer services for the fastrack points refund, The points and taxes WILL be refunded for a cancellation.

I'll book flights tomorrow as backup. If I can find a biz on the way home then I'll just get them to cancel all of the flights and refund cash and points.

Ironically, the backup economy ticket could also be cancelled if book via Qantas Points on Qatar Airlines. Such situation is quite ridiculous.

When my flights disappeared after a minor flight change by Qatar it took 15 phone calls over six weeks, one email to Steohanie Tully, and a lot of badly trained/unhelpful call centre staff before the flights were reinstated. Be polite, insist on your flights being reinstated. They will make it sound impossible to achieve but persist. The QSuites are worth the effort.

Ps when they did fix it they never bothered to notify me 🤣

The thing that worries me about the reinstatement is the seemingly prickly relationship between QF and QR at the moment!
