Tiger airways simply the worst airline

Was just re-reading some old Tiger threads and saw this this one. oh dear.

I stand by what I said.

Have you considered that this whole affair has been orchestrated by the Gillard govt (maximum noise, school holiday time) for reasons best known to itself, but including protecting Qantas from those awful discounted Tiger fares.

Do I believe in conspiracy theories? You bet!

Sorry Clifford, but I don't think the Gillard Gov is smart enough to think of something like this!!

Does anyone seriously believe our current government could successfully orchestrate an international conspiracy?

Hahaha, funniest thing I've read today. Oh, wait, you're serious

IF we are to believe this conspiracy theory then like all good conspiracy theories there needs to be some logic behind it. The only logic I can find here is that the gov't might be trying to deflect attention away from it's own pathetic endeavours. Would that really be sufficient? Not so IMHO.

Clifford, I have asked you many times to explain your 'interesting' comments though you never have done so. Would you care to elaborate on this one?

No ... there may be something going on behind the scenes, but it wouldn't be driven by the Federal Government.

If the government is protecting qantas why do they have a BFOD policy in many departments. Surely, they could better protect qantas with a only fly qantas policy.

Surely, they could better protect qantas with a only fly qantas policy.

Wasn't that policy abolished due to public pressure and possibly regulatory action (i.e. unfair on VA if the government did not allow bookings with them on an "equal footing" basis)?

Then again, with QF being a private company, it would be very unfair for the government to try and prop them up, i.e. through bail outs or biased outright financial support.

I'm still not understanding the conspiracy of which our esteemed theorist is alluding to.

I don't exactly remember but my recollection is that it was simply a policy decision for the reason you mention (equal footing). I don't remember any public outrage.

As for the conspiracy theory it is totally nonsensical IMO. As I mentioned why would they stuff around with nefarious plans when they could simply say "qantas only" without too much trouble.

Correct, they cant even draft, agree and execute common platform policy.......conspiracy stuff is for real experts, this governement isn't even in the same stratosphere here.

As I have been told on several occasions-If there is a choice between a conspiracy and a stuff up,the stuff up wins every time.To get 2 politicians to agree and keep it secret is very hard,3 damn near impossible,4 or more doesn't happen.

ROFL. So as they are such superb pilots as per your claim, were they just doing aerial tricks down low, or free bonus sightseeing for the pax?

Sorry mate you got no street cred here.........

Refund August fares .

Tiger were refusing refunds to pax on the other way back. They said they were 'sincere' about disruption, but also sincere in keeping money because of their fault. TT is for Tough Ti...ies
I would like to see that puffy statement removed - and Tiger fined again - either ACCC for unfair conditions, or not really being sincere - before they changed their tune.

Actually I would now like Tiger flying again. I feel the domestic lowest prices are up 40% across the board (strangely NZ prices are heaps cheaper). They have been over punished for the wrong reasons.

Does Tiger have a strategy for bums on seats? To be 'sincere' I would be giving out (for disruptees)
1) Free Tiger Stripes memberships
2) Secret and varied Tiger discount 'codes' for their next flights
3) Standby individually targeted 'deals' - sms broadcasts.

I don't want to see 1 cent deals or 1+1 deals or Free- just pay airport fee deals. This will probably be their first brain dead response, that will be matched by their rivals come F 'day'
But I sense lots of empty planes without bums on seats, if they don't throw targeted good deals to their victims, without rolling back 3 years of incremental price increases.

I do want to see some genuine sincerity, to which point they have not demonstrated.
