It is a divisive subject and I'm not going to stir it up.But he is wrong.Really? What's your beef? There was a good segment on vaping not long ago that you would have found interesting.

**woosh** (sound of that going over my head)I’ve never met @drron but I’m guessing he’s an eye filet kinda guy.

Maybe if I’d spelt fillet correctly it might have been easier to spot as a light-hearted attempt to diffuse the tension....he’s an eye filet kinda guy.
I was just wanting to know why @drron dislikes Paul Barry. Wasn't any more than that and I respect his call to not to elaborate. Genuine conversation from my part, I hope, albeit off topic. Not tense either, just good conversation, I also hope.Have I missed something, how has @drron become the bad guy, I have met him and his wife, they are both nice. Quote below, I have also abandoned QF for the same reason.
More than happy for QF to dump Neil. The days of QF food riding on what was once reasonable/acceptable Neil meals is well and truely over. Just my opinion.......
Perhaps we can steer the chat towards whether anyone will notice if Neil Perry is dumped by QF?
I certainly took it as a conversation with no malice at all.A shame if people with different opinions can't do that.I was just wanting to know why @drron dislikes Paul Barry. A lot of chicken on the flights I have been on lately, but alas no beef,Really? What's your beef? There was a good segment on vaping not long ago that you would have found interesting.
However, I want NP to get the flick for the rubbish meals he puts his name to, not because some venture capitalists have srewed over the employees from his former business. On the other hand, if it is later found he has been involved in dodgy wage practices, he should join George Calombaris in exile.
No argument with that, was thinking more of the person with the pony tail who I assume actually does have some influence on the menus. Hard to separate the man from the business I agree, and happy for all the connections with Rockpool Group to be dropped on the basis of the wage fraud. While that is all well and good, it ignores the fact that Qantas is closely connected with the entire Rockpool Group, not just NP, as I pointed out earlier. Qantas' website is littered with references to their 'Rockpool sommeliers' and 'Rockpool recipes' in their lounges and on board. Thus, if Rockpool is engaged in illegal and immoral practices, Qantas should dump them immediately.
Certainly not on Domestic in any class.I went to Rockpool at The Rocks in the first few years and it was an outstanding meal. Ever since he has been involved at QF I have never been able to see a connection between the restaurant dining experience and the mediocre (at best) airline meals. In the last 2 years I have had quite a few J meals on QF, AY and CX and QF comes a long way last. Even AY intra-Europe meals on an A320 beat what I was recently servied on a QF747.

Not much to do with kitchens, at all.
Of course not. Did anyone ever seriously think NP is standing in a warehouse by a conveyor belt helping make thousands of economy meals each day LOL?
Edit - is it even possible to damage RA's brand anymore than it currently is
I have always interpreted "Neil Perry" as a brand (like Rockpool), not really a person, from a Marketing perspective. Sure, there is a person named that who had a hand in creating that brand at the start, but that doesn't mean that everything that comes out of it now, actually has that person's involvement. I think that's an important distinction (brand vs person) and something that should always be thought about for "celebrity" endorsements.I reckon a whole swag of people might think that he has some personal involvement of the meal design and/or presentation, at least. Otherwise, what's the point?
