I wouldn't go to Dubai as I can't eat pork
Say what? Neither do Islamic folk.

I don't eat pork but find it offensive that QF do not have it as an option on flights via DXB (how can they call a dish coughberland Sausage if it is not made with pork?)I wouldn't go to Dubai as I can't eat pork
Not only that but 14+ hours to get there is too long to sit like a sardine in Y

.... find it offensive that QF do not have it as an option.....
I disagree. It is a small gesture but reasonable.
Should a Chinese citizen be ¨offended¨that dog is not on QF menus ¨as an option¨?
My travel rules are always the same - even if I disagree with habits/customs in other cultures, I respect them as any visitor should.
I disagree. Why does the Islamic law win out? It is an Australian airline, why shouldn't if offer Australian staples on the menu? I agree that they should offer a non-pork/Halal option but not at the expense of all others. Islam does not rule the world, at least not yet anyway.

RBA or RB as they are now known, don't have alcohol on board its aircraft, do they?
NOW, think about that, MEL to BWN to LHR, no grog.
Would that be a choice, for those who have to fly to LHR?
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
But you can BYO if you choose to do so on BI.
I didn't think I'd find a Flounge that was (much) better than the one in Sydney. But there it is. I was looked after very well and had a fabulous time. I don't know about Dubai as a stopover, but for a transit, it's great! As for the comment about the DXB Lounge F staff I have had the exact opposite experience with them in my numerous transits through DXB. They are fantastic IMO.
What is "Australian" is changing. We have a lot of Islamic folk in our nation, just as we once had Catholics and Baptists and "Balts". BFD.I disagree. Why does the Islamic law win out? Ah, that may have been me.I'm not even sure they are trying: Flounge reception staff more often rudethan not, not enough showers (& then they often smell bad),
The delights of Heathrow. Right. The Flounge at T5 has the showers outside. There's no easy meal service. The staff are so-so. Maybe TCR is a lot better, but I doubt it.…no cold water in the handbasin for cleaning teeth, no priority boarding from Flounge, all the seats are on walkways so no quiet areas to sit, no windows to look out over the apron and those impossible lifts from the loung to the gate. Add to that useless transit security screening...
I would much rather, and do, transfer at LHR
My point is that Qantas is not a Middle Eastern carrier: it is an Australian carrier and should reflect this is with its product. By your reasoning, EK should offer pork on flights to/from Aus, NZ and Europe (& most other destinations). As you say, this would be a small gesture
