Qantas lavatory tap water is potable and there is no sign indicicating that it cannot be consumed.

As long as it's not personally passed by the management, it should be fine.

I had this last week.... turbulence, bathroom, with an infant who cried throughout the 7 hour flight with midnight departure... and first time traveling without mummy.

I can just imagine.

I am a little behind you. I can take my daughter out in the pram alone for around 30-45 minutes and keep her amused before she starts to miss her mother. Not quite ready for a plane trip together.

Provision of little little paper cups in a lavatory is indicative the water is presumed potable.
