TOILETS Male or Female Simple choice well not anymore

I recall using the facilities at CDG and having to raise one foot, then the other, while the female cleaner mopped the floor around me.
You experienced that at CDG? Thought it would have been much more common in Thailand. ;)

just a thought.put the urinals furthest away from the entry/exit, and the cubicles closest...so then those who feel 'uncomfortable' seeing a guy pee dont have to walk passed them..simple!! :D
A better idea would be to have urinals in one bathroom and toilet cubicles separate in another in bathroom. The smell from the toilet cubicles can be disgusting during the 38 second pee.

If you read the first one properly, he was born a woman but wants to use the men's loos as he identifies as male. But politicians want him to use the ladies.
As a lady, I'd be happy for him to use the mens room because he is a man.

Sorry Blackcat20, you misunderstood me, I'm totally in favour of people using the toilets in accordance with how they present.

What I meant was that I could see a lot of women being uncomfortable when someone, although born female but presenting as obviously male as Michael Hughes does, uses the women's toilets. Very uncomfortable for Michael as well, I would think.

As a follow up, this makes very interesting reading: https://mic.com/articles/114066/sta...ple-have-attacked-you-in-bathrooms#.oTV30AsKF

Ah sorry. Reading stuff on the web, it can be a little hard to get the "tone".

Yes, woman could definitely feel uncomfortable seeing him in the ladies bathroom. Thats why I think its crazy that people want it that way.

I've read a few articles about similar issues in schools, where parents are up in arms about a kid using the bathroom of their preferred gender. Its funny because the kids dont see it, they just see that xyz is a boy and uses the boys bathroom, or vice versa. Seems to be only adults that get stuck on the whole born a boy/girl thing.

Agree with the general sentiment of this thread, with exception to urinals everything "personal" is done behind another set of closed doors. And even with urinals it's not like us guys exactly waive "it" around for all to see anyway, and if nothing else assuming someone did manage to get a peek, it's not exactly like down their is a big mystery to 99% of the community (adults and kids).

This discussion reminds me of the showers which had been set up at Bathurst for the races last year (and I assume again this year). The showers for camping had two entrances, a male side and a female side. Between the two sides in the middle was a piece of board at the same height as the shower cubicles. Apart from ensuring different sized queues to use the showers for each gender, a person was as likely to see a naked person of the opposite gender as they were of their own gender especially if you took the showers next to the divider.

(Also the answer was extremely unlikely unless you got a ladder out)

I'm surprised this is an issue for anyone. The "cough rule" should sort it. Yes - mens. No - womens.

Although frankly I couldn't care less if they are all unisex. That's what they are at work, and in much of the world.

It's something that is only possible to complain about when you have absolutely nothing else left.

How should intersex people be treated? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersex

No. That is part of the problem. You clearly don't understand what the issue is.
Many transgender people may be unable to get the surgery you suggest for many reasons, including financial or medical. You intend to force people who may fully appear as their correct gender into the wrong restroom simply because they have yet to/can't have "lower" surgery?

VA J has a female only toilet (though the male pilots do use it). Has a larger sink and more lighting around the mirror.

I've seen male passengers using it as well, so I think the "female-only" designation has pretty much gone by the board.

I intend to not care. As I said, why all bathrooms aren't unisex remains a mystery. That in itself is a hyper-sensitivity issue. Much of the world is past it.

But where we are stuck with the segregated bathrooms, for the tiny minority of cases where actual gender is unclear, I reckon they can take their pick. They're between a rock and a hard place and will be criticised or praised by either side of the hyper-sensitive crowd either way.

For the vast majority we see in the news making a thing about identifying as one gender but appearing as another, as Cartman demonstrated in the South Park episode on it, the issue is entirely in their heads.

Had no idea that that even existed. Have to look into it next time LOL

Interesting facts however would the current increase to move across to transgender not likely to increase the statistics the other-way?

I have no interest in any opinion of any famous person on any subject. When anyone listens to them is beyond me.

You are right, for quite a long time the ladymen have been going to the female toilet and it has never been a problem, until now. The reason why is the real issue with gender and the toilets, is not about the toilets, the real issue with gay marriage is not about the marriage either.

The socialist agenda on this and many other issues is really about the legalisation of these social behaviours (for lack of a better term) and what will come about after that. Despite the fact that modern society is tolerant of diverse social behaviours (note that tolerance means "to put up with without liking it") the rainbow people do not have 100% acceptance. Legalising their lifestyle is another step towards forcing everyone by law to accept their way.

Many people are a champion for this cause because they think that anyone who doesn't wave the rainbow flag now is a religious bigot, but what they are voting for is taking peoples freedoms and liberties away.

How does letting a gay couple get married take away anyone's freedom or Liberty??

Watching TV for what passes for news here in NYC, this subject is right up there with the stupidity of saying that Hilary Clinton was responsible for her husband's philandering.

Very common in Asia and when I was in England (yesterday :( ) there was a woman cleaning in the men's room and I asked her if it was common. She said whoever was rostered to work cleaned both genders rest rooms. The next person on shift was a man.

A sign is put on the door noting that a man or woman was cleaning that toilet.
