TomCat's new digs!

So it turns out that the builder won't have the contract ready on time for our appointment, despite them being the ones who wanted to bring the signing date forward (I assume because they get a payment).

Not impressed as I had scheduled other things around this appointment

How annoying. I hate it when things like that happen.:(

Got an email that Caesarstone have released 6 new colours/brochure... something for you to check out and order samples. :)

Indeed they are not; we've paid to add one out the front and one out the back.

Great move. It's those things that are easy to forget as there's so much else going on. But they should be automatic.

Funny how contractors often skimp and leave it up to the client to pick up things. Had a kitchen redone once and the company did not replace the old power points. Very annoying but then I didn't pick it up at the time as I assumed that they would have been done. Did daughter's (when she was renting from us) a few years later and made sure that was noted in the instructions.
Our last place had double exterior point points front and back plus and extra out the back.
Outside taps are another 'dispensable' in some builds - friend's son does not have one in his courtyard which makes it painful to water plants!

As long as I can remember we've always had taps in the front and back yards. I thought every house did?

We also added extra power points in the kitchen (you only get one as standard). You dont get fans in the bathrooms so we've had to add those too.

What? No fans? That's stupid. It's almost like standards have gone backwards from when we built, ahem, 40 years ago.

Surely such things should be minimum base and a requirement eg a fan to prevent moisture build up.

And? So? Why are you building what you don't want?

Where did anyone say we were building what we didn't want? The house is off the plan with standard inclusions. The extras are variations that we're paying for. And we certainly don't have anywhere near your budget.
