TomCat's new digs!

Had the tiler and builder here this morning, as we have a couple of tiles in our shower that have cracked. They have finally decided to replace the tiles. Theyre also going to sort out the creaking floor in the ensuite, which will require either the floor to be pulled up, or the ceiling below.

Oh dear. That's very disappointing. Are they floor tiles that have cracked. Hope they fix it properly. How long is the warranty period?

Wall tiles, either side of the window where they’ve been cut with a right angle (so like an L shape). I can understand how the stress causes the cracks, it’s just annoying that the crack must have appeared during tiling as one was filled with grout.

The warranties vary, apparently tiles, flooring etc don’t have any. So if it’s not mentioned at handover, too bad. Pity they didn’t tell us that.... we’re still arguing about carpet damage caused by them, and damage to some of the roofing that we clearly aren’t responsible for.

Ergh, we're going round in circles with the service team. We tell them that we were not given the opportunity to log defects at handover, and they say "no worries, just send us proof you logged these defects at handover". Theyve been told multiple times and we go round and round in circles... takes days to get a response, an immediate reply gets an out of office email, and they never answer the phone

From memory a purple Smyrna. Haven’t had a problem with roots, even dug up and moved one at our old house without much hassle.

You’ll have to have a look at mine for me. It’s in terrible condition.
