Gantt charts still get used - rarely printed though.
And just like that it starts. We have site start tentatively scheduled for next week
Fingers and toes crossed. We have site start tentatively scheduled for next week
Sure. I think that just seeing something physically happen to the site will be a great relief, (to all of us ) as currently it’s all just paperwork. Once you see stuff actually happening you know it’s real.I note the words "scheduled". I trust all the ducks line up (including weather)
I don't have details but my understanding is that it may happen sooner if everything lines up. The initial step is site scrape, as they need to excavate just slightly at the rear of the house (150mm apparently). Then they'll do all the plumbing, then frame up and pour the slab.I note the words "scheduled". I trust all the ducks line up (including weather)
Gosh, you’d think they’d survey properly and just give a couple of seconds thought that your block might just need it’s full space for your build. Did you drag it back? I’d be sooooo tempted but I guess we are talking heavy duty fencing. Maybe stick some flags where you know it’s on your land? Annoying.Unlocked our tap and removed another blob of concrete this morning, so we’re all ready to start. Our only concern now is the lot to the left has their construction fences well past the boundary line onto our lot, and the site scrape for their garage also appears to be over the line.
There have been a few instances of builds crossing boundaries in the estate, so we’re keen to make sure that’s not the case here.

That warrants a claim on that builder for damage to your fence. Is it a large blue paint job? Our builder scarred our timber stained gates with a bob cat. No problems, he’d take it away to be fixed. He came back and he’d PAINTED the entire 2 gates with brown paint. So angry.Far too heavy for us to move. It's on our block the whole length from front to back we've flagged it with our builders we want to make sure none of their build ends up on our block.
They're also marked the boundary line on the back fence inside our lot, with a lovely stripe of blue paint on my nice stained fence

The peg with the pink tape is the corner of our lot...
Such a pain and angst you don’t need. Hopefully your builder gets on to it. It means you have to be out there checking everything!
We have a back fence, thats not the issue. Its the lot to our left which seems to be creeping too far over the boundary line onto our block. With the constuction fences up its really hard to check the boundary, and it was soooo muddy.
No that's what I meant - I know your fence is there and has been painted (hard work that). I meant I hope the builder gets onto the apparent grab of your land where they have marked it on the back fence. We have a back fence, thats not the issue. Agree, those survey pegs are what counts. It must be annoying for people that their land is conveniently being used to prop someone else’s fence up but maybe that’s just the way it works in bulk housing developments. Couldn’t work in established areas without full consent of the owner.Don't worry too much about this. It is just temporary fencing, it will keep moving through the construction period for access etc. All that matters is the actual pegs and survey set out, as long as the slab is poured wholly within their lot you have nothing to worry about.
Except their survey pegs appear to be on our side of the boundary. Hence the concern until we can confirm their slab is on their side. I dont care about the fence, its just in the way of us being able to check the boundary line.Don't worry too much about this.
