TomCat's new digs!

Tech question here. Our lighting will change once a wall disappears in a weeks time. We currently have a single pendant with multiple lights which is way too bright in one spot. I take the globes out. So I’m thinking of going for this type of look and presume it’s easy for an electrician to change to three?

Assuming you mean changing from one pendant to three in the same vicinity? If there's space in the ceiling it's pretty easy.

All this time we could have had a thread 'Pushka's old digs' :)
Well TomKat did give me food for thought. I just wanted to get in on the act. We leave for UK on Friday and wall is being knocked down while we are away. So next 3 days is to be spent clearing out kitchen and dining room, sealing off other rooms with plastic and rolling up rugs. We seem to be doing this every few weeks but inside this is the last job.

Yes but in thinking this it’s the second story on top that might limit and the ceiling will have been newly painted so I think now RooFlyer’s idea will be the best.

I hate really bright rooms - it’s all part of the lupus thing apparently.

Managed to get our couch order bumped up so we should hopefully have it in October. We can manage a few weeks with the one we've got which will then be relegated to the sitting room.

Once we have a better idea of handover date I can get our dining table scheduled for delivery as well, as thats a layby rather than a build to order.

Supervisor update!

  • bathroom mirrors go in tomorrow
  • Driveway and front path to be poured tomorrow
  • Painting touch ups will be done next week, the supervisor has marked up any issues
  • floorboards will go in right at the end so they aren't damaged by any rectification required after inspection

Oh that’s fabulous! When do you think you will actually move in? I think I’d camp in on the first night. Now to organise all the utility connections etc.

I'd say towards the end of the month. They usually take 2 weeks to finish off and fix anything. Water is already connected as is power, and they'll hand the power account over to us at completion. Will need to arrange NBN, get bins delivered then get the backyard done so we dont have muddy dogs.

Laundry.

It's pretty much considered finished. They do the last installations before handover so things don't go missing. They're just fixing the paint work where the supervisor has picked up on issues and finishing off the garage and Alfresco.

I like the stair carpet colour and the laundry/bathroom floor tiles! Sliding door/laundry access is on my wishlist so very nice

Thanks. Was worried it was a bit dark but I think looks good with the light walls.
