1977, my first visit to Berlin (that's me in the photo). Walking from Checkpoint Charlie to the entrance to East Berlin was nerve-wracking for two young lads from Melbourne, because East German guards in the guard-tower had machine guns trained on us.


Brandenburg Gate from East Berlin. The Wall is just behind it and the trees are Tiergarten, a park in the West. The area was deserted...too close to the Wall for the locals, we assumed.


Walking along Unter den Linden. The building with all the orange glass is the Palace of the Republic, also known as "The People's Palace", because of all the cultural and entertainment venues it contained. The East German government built it on the site of the Berlin Schloss (palace), which they demolished for ideological reasons. After reunification, the People's Palace was demolished because it was riddled with asbestos. The building which now stands on the site, the Humboldt Forum, has 3 facades built to look like the old Schloss.

After being locked up for the last two years due to Covid I bit the bullet and booked flights to Oman. Had an amazing time and it’s impossible to pick only 3 favourite photos. These pics have been pulled off my instagram so they’ve lost their detail and resolution. Took the drone as well and flew it a few times without getting caught so that was a bonus.

Love Oman. Went there on a cruise the first time and wasn't excited because I knew nothing about it. Wow! Have since been back twice. Great photos by the way.

Thanks for the comments. I can post some more when I get around to it. On the same trip I also spend some time in the UAE and Jordan. Had a great time in Jordan as well but it was bloody cold!

This thread has sadly been neglected. Thought I’d add a few pics from a trip I just returned from to India. I will be returning hopefully some time next year. Had an absolute amazing time! A street photographers paradise.
