So I have been in a Brazil for a few days now so just catching up.
Boarding onto the A380 directly from the first class lounge is one of those experiences that makes you feel a little special. As soon as I stepped into the first class cabin on the A380 it fees slightly cramped compared to the 777 but once settled into the suite it feels spacious enough. The bigger tv screen and the updated tablet were easier to use compared to the 777 flight and the ICE system seemed to have more enetertainment options not that it needed anymore!
Turns out the flight wasn’t full as previously though I was seated in 2K with a gentleman sitting in 1K and a lady back in 4K. From memeory only 3 others on the top her side of the cabin.
Trying to adjust to the time zone in Brazil I ordered a breakfast martini (because why not) and a glass of scotch with some risotto and the usual warm bread basket even though it was 8am local time in Dubai. Followed up with two glasses of Hennesy Paradis which was fantastic. The biggest difference to me besides the obvious of the larger tv screen and shower was the noise difference between the two aircraft in the 777 I slept with the headphones on usually with a movie playing in the background on a low volume. On the A380 I didn’t find this necessary at all and slept 10 hours easily and only disturbed by a few rough bumps of turbulence. The privacy is also better with a staggered seating arrangement.
Waking up with 2.5 hours left on the flight I went for a walk down to the onboard bar just for a look around it was empty everyone in business class seemed to be sleeping or watching tv so I wandered back to my suite. It was time to try the shower! There is something special about having a shower at 40,000ft in the air especially as this was a 15 hour flight and walking off refreshed from a long flight is an added bonus!
Landing in São Paulo was uneventful straight off the plane and to immigration is always quick as most passengers are returning nationals from my experience anyway. Bag collection is very fast bags already there when I arrive at collection and straight through customs without any check is very normal for me in São Paulo. To be greeted to a surprise pick up from the fiancée was great, I had already booked the chauffeur service but he was more than understanding.
Me and the soon to be wife will be flying the A380 from Brisbane to Dubai so it will be great to experience this again as it i
Now it is helping with the last minute wedding organising. I have family and a couple of friends arriving on Tuesday and Wednesday and on Thursday morning we will be travelling to Ilhabela (translated to beautiful island) about 3-3.5 hours drive away from São Paulo for the wedding on the 6th April!
