You're probably aware of the many Energy comparison services available in Australia. These services make it easy for you to get a better deal by comparing what you are currently paying your current provider with alternative providers. If they find you a better deal, they can then facilitate you to easily switch your services to the new provider. It's marketed as a win-win: you get a better deal while they get paid a commission for facilitating the transfer.

Well, its now even better for our AFF GOLD Supporters...

We have teamed up with CIMET and will pass on 100% of the commission we receive if an AFF GOLD supporter switches Electricity and/or Gas suppliers using the webpage www.econnex.com.au/australianfrequentflyer/.

CIMET will pay AFF $80 per switch for Electricity and $60 per switch for Gas. We will return this to our AFF GOLD Supporters via a flexible gift card from GiftPay. The value of the gift card will be what we receive from CIMET.

To claim your gift card:
  1. Compare and switch providers at www.econnex.com.au/australianfrequentflyer/
  2. Send an email to [email protected] advising us that you will be switching providers. The title of the email should be "AFF GOLD Electricity/Gas Offer". Be sure to include your full name, your AFF Handle, and the email address you provided to CIMET.
  3. Receive your gift card by email.
  4. Spend the value at a retailer of your choice!

Sounds interesting. Anyone know what this means:

I'm not 100% sure - it was provided to me by Econnex. Googling the term does give you some insight - I suspect the offer does not apply if you are on a private grid?

Yeah, I think in specific areas you can only have one energy provider so you wouldn't be able to use a comparison service.
