Transit Sydney terminal - QANTAS Or TBus

I predict she'll have the instructions firmly in hand, she'll be all rush-hurry, the bags will come out no probs, they'll hurriedly get to the bus & get there just in time to miss it, they'll run down to the train & catch that, they'll rush up to the check-in then be waiting impatiently in the shorter-than-average security line ...

... then once air-side they'll realise they've got 1.5hrs to kill somehow. :-)

Yeah - I realise it was a long shot. It's probably too risky anyway as I think the luggage could be a factor. Wish I had known this earlier - I would have made them go down the night before. I guess in a worse case scenario they should be at T1 about an hour before (assuming JQ is on time. ). Not great but not hopeless either....

Fortunately I am not. She is already at the airport hotel and I am in BNE tonight! Just back from Longreach so a bit inside out. 😳🤦🏻Unortunately I am not. She is already at the airport hotel and I am in BNE tonight! Just back from Longreach so a bit inside out. 😳🤦🏻
If they stayed overnight at an OOL airport hotel agree SYD would have been better. Likely to have cost more and not as convenient, but with a 11:30 T1 departure not a big issue.

But must let the young'uns make there own mistakes. Can't be a helicopter parent for ever.
But expect they will be OK with time for a coffee.

Can anyone tell me when checkin closes for intl flights with Qantas?
Is this something they should have been aware of?
90 minutes. Hope they are fast walkers. I have checked for trans Tasman at 60 minutes without issue.

Probably yes but that’s what happens with inexperience. The good news is that they are checked in, through security and on the way to the gate.

Thankyou for all your contributions. They were invaluable and I apologise if I missed any replies. I feel like I have done half a round with Tyson or someone

Yep. Peace at last! 🥂
Good job with instructions @PaulyB

At 44, we still give " measured advice" to Surfer Flyfrequently and she is only going MEL- OOL tomorrow for a surf comp!

Had to laugh last night as she was proudly telling us, accommodation sorted, board is good to go, has remembered the straps for her board and booked a rental car but "Nah, Mum, don't need (car rental) insurance 🤦‍♀️

🤣 Oh gee. Yes - defintiely car insurance.
Maybe we should start a new thread..."things to teach the kids"! My daughter and boyfriend are over 42, but there may still be some way to go!!. We need to start a passenger school!

And it's not as if we never took them anywhere - guess these days I would be a helicopter parent !!
