Hello everyone, I’ve booked a FF trip via Qantas to fly out of Charles De Gauile with Air Francis flying business and landing in Hong Kong at 5.20pm with a connecting flight on Qantas QF128 economy at 7.30pm to Sydney . Would I be able to check my bags in all the way to Sydney with Air France or do I need to collect them at HK and go through customs and re check in my bags at Qantas counter knowing its a tight schedule regards David

Sounds like both flights are on a single ticket?
No unfortunately as there was a problem when I was booking the HK to Aust leg which I booked over the phone so on a different ticket number plus also they. couldn’t book the paris to HK over the phone . Got them to make a reference on both booking though

Will depend on whether AF will check the bags through then?
Yes. The best place to get this sorted will be at check-in. No point contacting anyone before this as the agent in the ground is the one that has the experience. Present a copy of the HKG-AU segment at checkin - the link may not work unless the agent is specifically looking for it - and see what they can do.

If not, three hours is doable for HKG. Prolly around 30 mins for immigration unless you have some sort of e-gate registration. Another 10-15 mins for luggage to come out. So less than an hour all up. Then check in and exit. Exit immigration is electronic and security is pretty quick.

A lot less than that. I think i had my luggage last few times at HKG about 15-20mins after the gate.

Yeah, YMMV :) I was providing a conservative estimate.

The last couple of times I’ve arrived around 6pm. Queues for immigration were in the region of 20-30 mins, and once out, I had to wait another 5-10 mins for the carousel to even start!
