Travelling with active Stage 4 Cancer

I travel with cancer (not Stage 4), declare it as a pre-existing condition and have even had it accepted by the company. (Sometimes with an extra fee, sometimes not.) It seems to vary a lot so keep trying.

Best of luck with your health and travels.

I was going to update this but have been procrastinating :) Moi - Non :)
Further to this post I ended up with 11 brain Mets and no brain! Stroke waiting to happen....Just before a cruise in June last year and luckily had insurance however they would not cancel for cancer but would for the other big C - Covid....my oncologist had no qualms in signing me off for that. Had the gamma knife surgery which was amazing (in terms of results but not in terms of what it consists of!) and then got multiple Mets all through my body and another in my brain......

Currently stable, still with cancer in my body but seems to be shrinking slightly. I'm good with that 😍 although would prefer NED. I have been to South Africa, Singapore, NZ and multiple domestic trips. Always take Covermore but without the pre-existing which being stage 4 they will not consider. Plus I am still on active treatment. Insurance varies a lot and I have tried many companies for quotes...they almost seem the same at the end of the day.

I prefer emailing companies rather than relying on phone calls for advice. That way you have clear and documented proof should a claim or issue arise. Alternatively, keep a record of the time, date and person spoken with but companies might not go out of their way to track down a call recording if it’s contrary to what might be favourable to them.

Or use and save the chat facility on their websites.

Could you say which company?

I am not sure if this will be the same company, but I had tried with All Clear for Bali and the premium was $4800 for 10 days. Just went with Covermore for everything but the cancer and side effect related. I would be interested in a reply from sydunipete as I have phoned around and emailed without success, even my health fund provider (HCF) refused to cover me which I thought was a bit 'poor'. They still message me saying going overseas ask us for a quote....it will be cheaper....hmmm. I am not sure if my Qantas Premier card will cover me as I have had it before the cancer and keep on forgetting about the credit card insurance, will check that out as an' incase' , however always like to take another insurance too. They will also not cover me for side effects which are now pre-existing however I need cover for Covid, breaks, and whatever else.
