That way you have clear and documented proof should a claim or issue arise. Alternatively, keep a record of the time, date and person spoken with but companies might not go out of their way to track down a call recording if it’s contrary to what might be favourable to them.
Could you say which company?I travel with cancer (not Stage 4), declare it as a pre-existing condition and have even had it accepted by the company. (Sometimes with an extra fee, sometimes not.) It seems to vary a lot so keep trying.
