TripAdvisor's 2009 Top 10 Dirtiest Hotels

Interesting lists of hotels around the world. A lot of the reviews make for great reading.

Ditto, but stayed at the Hotel Nizza six years ago. Things must have changed as it wasn't too bad back then...

Sometimes I don't know what to make of reviews on sites like TripAdvisor, Agoda etc.

I have stayed in Hotel 81's and Fragrance Hotels in Singapore and some very lowly rated hotels in Thailand that have had bad reviews, some terrible reviews, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay and not had any issues. I have had worse issues at some of the higher rated hotels like the Crowne Plaza Queenstown and Hilton on the Park Melbourne.

Personally I don't care too much for reviews and prefer to form my own opinion of a hotel. Some people are very picky and there a some hidden gems around with great value for money. What was that saying "One person's junk is another person's treasure"....

I personally no longer give any weight to TA hotel lists.They are extremely biased IMHO.For example in their list of the worlds hundred best hotels a US Best Western rated above the Peninsula Bangkok-yeh right.By the way the only one on the list i had stayed at.
Look at the top picks of hotels for virtually any city and the top few are heavily skewed to the cheapest.

I have learnt to treat comments in TA with suspiscion. Any of us can write anything about a place , good and bad.
I would prefer to ask about a hotel her in AFF and expect to get a fair reply.
