Watched an episode of My Life is Murder, the retired detective is played by Lucy Lawless and she is at an archery range.
Her first shot is a bulls eye, those with her say "you must have done this before", her character says, well it's been a few years.........
Reference of course to Xena....
This series and Brokenwood are good fun, nothing too serious and most enjoyable.

I remember as a teen rather enjoying Xena as the ridiculous over the top silly spectacle it was. Also Hercules to a lesser extent. I think Kevin Sorbo took his moderate level of success to his head.
Lucy Lawless always showed a comedic bent.

Sambre - Anatomy of a Crime on SBS was excellent - based on a true case - 6 episodes which look at the crime/s from a different person's view and over a different time period.

Finished all of the Bosch and Bosh Legacy about 10 days ago just read that season 3 of Bosh Legacy in March will be the last given Amazon decided to axe it last Sept. Although there is a petition to try and get them to rethink.

If Amazon are in fact done with Bosch it might free up the cast to appear on future Netflix Lincoln Lawyer episodes given I understand crossovers are frequent in the later books.

Watched A Man on The Inside on Netflix, latest from Michael Schur, not as good as the Good Place but easy watching and sentimental.

Was looking forward to watching The Call Midwife Xmas specials and new season but just found out BBC First is no more and only place to watch will be Britbox but not until 6th Jan - which is a shame since we have always got it on Boxing Day in past years on BBC first.

Have enjoyed the first 3 episodes of Dexter Original Sin on Paramount - at least there is one new show dropping new episodes over summer.

Just finished bingeing Tokyo Vice (SBS On Demand). Fantastic show! Keen to read the book on which the series was (loosely) based.

So a confession. We watched Black Doves which we really enjoyed but realised we just couldn't understand much of the two Irish girls dialogue. So we watched it with subtitles from about episode 3 and thoroughly enjoyed their dark humour. So now we are watching it again all with subtitles. Realised we missed so much from the get go and it's like watching it from new. Almost. It surprising how much detail you miss first time round.

I watched to the end but only because I were invested after a couple of Ep. I thought the Keira Knightley character a bit thin, no pun intended. It has been a while since watched so can't recall if it was the writing or acting but I am thinking she did not draw out the character.

I think she unraveled because she was tied up too much in the love interest and lost her way as a spy a bit. Which made her character more humane I guess than the role she was playing with her husband. And not sure if it added to the series. That won't happen next time. Unless it involves one of her children.

I have a confession to make. Having somehow missed out in the 1990s I am enjoying watching re-runs of The Nanny. Clever writing, great acting, self deprecating humour, every high calibre celeb trying to get a guest spot.
