TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Interesting and agree with a lot.
So sad about Chelsea - what an angel
I thought the Belinda arc was a cracker — she used exactly the same words as Jennifer Coolidge in WL1 to blow off the idea of investing in a spa together with the masseur.
I think we all guessed that Rick was the son of the old hotel owner
Patrick Scwartznegger was very good and one of the interesting characters.
WL2 is still my favorite.

My bets for WL4

? Mdina/Valletta
? Lizard Island
? ???
She is also in Toxic Town. She's an admirable character in that story too.

Next on the list!
Currently watching the Residence - love real Aussies in this including PM played by Julian McMahon (son of a real PM) and Kylie Minogue. That detective was the hilarious inmate on Orange is the New Black
Just finished it this arvo. I enjoyed the back and forth with the detective and just about everyone else!

BL3 drops 2 eps per week. You have 6 for your viewing pleasure..
The good new is that we can apparently look forward to an (as yet) untitled spinoff series starring Maggie Q as cold case detective Renée Ballard, which has been green-lit by Amazon and is expected to debut on Prime Video in the 3rd quarter of this year. Michael Connelly himself has confirmed that Bosch will be a part of that series.

That will be great! I love the Ballard character in the books (who Michael Connelly based on a real detective Mitzi Roberts

She was known as an outstanding cold case detective who solved many unsolved crimes. I think in a forward to one of his books he wrote volunteered for the night shifts, in the worst areas so she got trained to handle anything. She consults on the Bosch series and even had a cameo!

Edited to add she is still working!

Just finished the final episode. Was wondering how they were going to demonstrate "closure" for the series and I've been left relatively satisfied. As a side note, I got a lot of enjoyment out of my favourite literary detective's television series being closed out to a track from my favourite band, with lyrics that rather poetically summed up Bosch (and neatly reference Renée Ballard's keyring and the phrase she mentions to Bosch) ;)

Bring on Ballard!!!!

Edited 2: I really should do my due dil better. She has retired - some great interviews and youtube vids with her and Michael Connelly

I can highly recommend The Leopard series on Netflix. From the Italian classic book Il Gattopardo, set in Sicily during the reunification.

Acting is very good, esp the lead, soundtrack and scenery is fabulous, and if you can, watch in Italian with English subtitles rather than dubbed - I think it adds a lot to the experience hearing the dialects etc.

Have tissues ready for the final episode. I never cry at things on the telly but I was in floods 😭

For a change of pace, I've started watching The Studio on Apple TV+. Witty script, great casting (including Seth Rogen and Catherine O'Hara) and acting, and some fantastic cameos (including Martin Scorsese, Steve Buscemi, Ron Howard and Anthony Mackie - amongst others - in the first 3 episodes alone). Highly recommended!!!
