For the ongoing discussion of all things by TWE CellarDoor, including invites* when they become active, please post in this thread.

*An invite to CellarDoor is not viewed in the same light as a referral as there is no direct benefit gained by the referrer in signing up all their friends.

Also seemingly able to invite at present.
PM needed with Name and Email.

As per the closed thread TWE only tends to open the gate for a short time.

I would appreciate an invite if possible, but unfortunately i don't know how to PM either. Can you please let me know how? (Sorry for the hassle).

some people can always arrange for others to be invited with a $20 welcome voucher, else invitation periods have previously lasted up to two weeks or perhaps a month

Just joined AFF, but not sure how I can send you a PM?

to avoid being inundated with messages, rather than openly requesting an invitation, pm someone from here or this original thread for one

"WINEFAIR2020" gives $20 off on cellardoor.co

No minimum. So went Bin 28 2018 again for $18.90.

ends today, (unusually) doesn't exclude Penfolds - besides pinot noir and chardonnay, my single bottle picks delivered after $20 off:
  • Wynns Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Cabernet Shiraz 2018 $26
  • Wynns Coonawarra Estate Single Vineyard 'O'Deas' Red Blend 2016 $50
  • Wynns Coonawarra Estate Single Vineyard Harold Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 $50
  • Wynns Coonawarra Estate Single Vineyard 'Messenger' Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 $50
  • Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny Gift Box $55

Is the Cellardoor.co code a single use code? Thanks

Hi I would appreciate an invite as well if possible. I attempted to PM but unfortunately I’m lacking some skills. Any assistance would be welcomed.

My CellarDoor order arrived today.. it’s been shipped in 40 degree weather so I guess the odds are that the wine could have been heat affected? Maybe I’ll gift it to someone who doesn’t know much about wine ;)

was it in polystyrene packaging or a cardboard box?

previously all my single bottle orders up until August came in the former, but with my first one since then the other day, unfortunately the latter

Same here

Slightly off topic, but how does everyone manage their orders in high temperatures? Some online stores have the option of holding until the days are cooler but many do not. Also you might be ordering from interstate where it could be on a cold run but its very hot in your home state.
Also you have no idea where it is being stored every day through transit which makes it difficult.

If you see a deal do you just take the plunge and hope for the best?

It came in a cardboard box, and it was 40 degrees at both ends.

Not sure if CellarOne did this on purpose, but I ordered last week and they didn’t ship until Tuesday this week. Very grateful as the weather had become significantly cooler in Sydney.

I check the weather first in both cities and pray 😅

A bit of pray.
But I think real damage is done by continual heat cycles to wine.
Don't think one or two makes a massive difference.

I tend to not order wine in the summer months unless I trust the seller and know they ship in refrigerated reefers (ie Eurocentric).

For those who recently had wine turn up on a hot day, were the bottles actually hot when you touched them? If not, I wouldn't be too worried. I've had wine (many years ago turn up at 4pm in Perth on a stinking hot day. I told the delivery guy to wait a minute. Opened the box and found the bottles seriously warm. Told him I'm not signing for this and to return it to the sender. This was QF Wine. They don't care about how they treat wine.

The alternative is crack a bottle that night and see if it seems cooked. If it does, call the retailer and request a replacement. Alternatively, don't buy in summer.

My vinomofo order turned up yesterday and sat in the sun for 4hrs. The bottles were burning hot.

Unfortunately I didn’t know they’d arrived as 1) they didn’t knock and 2) tracking hadn’t updated to say it’d been delivered

Unsure what to do as it’s not really vinomofo’s fault
