Just googled. @RooFlyer - they dropped that ban. You’ll have to go back.

Thanks, but don't think I'll bother. Got enough pics last time :) . Scroll down a bit for my confrontation!

Thanks for that link. I’ll read that TR again. Now you mention it the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior did have the red circle (very cryptic I think). Honestly I was so laid up with the audio set up and red cable, my small bag. My glasses. The crowd. My phone, that taking photos was a royal pain. And the audio not nearly as good as the Churchill War rooms. I need a break from visiting magnificent ancient world treasures 😂. I did warn MrP that Edinburgh was going to be a repeat.

Though be prepared that Scottish castles are not quite (understatement) as grand as the English ones. Loved Edinburgh though on the Tims have been there - except for the fire alarm when in the loo queue at Waverly Station (and almost there) and the train that broke down at Perth (twice) - giving us a bunfight for a seat as no first class.

Oops. Now where was I after messing in drrons thread. Back on to my own thread 😳

We decided to collect the rental from Heathrow rather than negotiate London with all the road blocks. Caught a nice English cabbie. The rental location was based on the Heathrow ring route.

Cabbie was cursing about all the blockages and clearly not a Royalist. We dodged traffic and ended up driving into Chelsea and past the Flower Show which was packed. The shops also decorate for it.

Taken from the cab

Found the Airbnb driveway which like many seems incredibly obscure. And always cars right behind.

It's quite nice but the bed is tiny. My feet touch the bottom rails and I'm only 5'6" 😳. But the car has a nice spacious area. Black one below.

There's a jazz festival currently. I'm not a fan of Jazz with the bebop scat thing but these guys played Nat King Cole hits and were excellent.

Woke this morning to find we had to get our own breakfast. Set out to explore Tunbridge Wells,. They take their Royal seriously.

"Why is it 'Royal'? Officially known as Royal Tunbridge Wells, it's one of a few towns and boroughs in England to officially be given a royal title. It came from King Edward VII in 1909, partly to commemorate the fact that his mother, Queen Victoria, had loved the town so much."

She's everywhere.

The Pantiles is a long street full of fascinating shops and coffee places. Beautiful items. Creative shops to get lost in. We went to the supermarket to buy a chicken to cook for dinner. 😂

My daughter lived in Royal Tunbridge Wells for a while and granddaughter started pre-school there. Certainly a lovely place.

I must tell her about the M&S Corgis, as I reckon she would be into consuming a few in revenge for their ambushes when she was at the Palace.

Yesterday was British Museum and a stack of walking. Weather was patchy rainy but not cold. Used the subs to get to the museum and we are some of the few wearing masks on the sub.

It still amazes me that the Museum has been able to keep so many world treasures.

Agree 100%. Time for all stolen antiquities to be returned. So many museums around the world would lose half their collections

At the Gallery we somewhat trudged around looking at inspiration. It never came. I wonder why.

This compares with the large panel of blue that describes an artist 'inventing' a new colour of blue. Sigh. It's almost like reality show art.

This reminds me of an exhibition we saw at a gallery in either Kyoto or Osaka. It was called white and yes, everything was, white. Everything. I don’t have an off switch when it comes to things that amuse me or I don’t like. I couldn’t stop laughing. bAl kept walking away from me. Saw Wickd in the West End in 2012 and I had my fingers in my ears every time Wanda sang. Her high notes literally were stabbing my brain. Artistic heathen maybe.

Last Sunday it was down to T shirts. Then the next was cold and windy and one heavy rain day. In the sun yesterday it was very warm, today is warm and I started thinking I should have brought some skirts. Have plenty of T's. The forecast for wedding day next Friday is sunny. But tomorrow forecast to be wet, and we are taking son off down to Dover for a boat trip. Let's put it this way, Melbourne. Nights are cold and it's not humid yet. The usual answer is Layering. I think August will be warmer and more humid and the odd cold and wet day.

Well we kept saying - they are taking the P*** out of us and then in the next room was the urinal. We were laughing and a guard walked past - I swear he thought exactly the same. I also didnt mention that the ladies loos suffered a very unfortunate mishap - all three of them and let's say I left there gagging.

The one, perhaps, thing that could be said, maybe not, is that they have been safe from invading forces.

While MrP found a gym with a day pass I ventured back into the High Street again. Wanted to explore some of the fascinating stores. This one was wonderful and I bought the last three scarves that had been designed by local designers with all proceeds to be sent to a major aid relief programme in Ukraine.

We were to go to son and DIL place for dinner, a 30 minute walk and uphill. We got a quote for a taxi which was £25 so we decided against that and instead did a pub crawl along the way and take a break. G&T of course.

Long glasses for the G&T - I would be sloshing with that - strictly short glass only now at my age 🤣

Drove to Dunorlan Park in TW on a hot cold sunny cloudy breezy day yesterday. Gorgeous place. Lots of locals about.

Today it's off to Dover and a trip on a fast boat to see the White Cliffs. And get wet apparently. Sunny so far. Taking the son as DIL is baking for the wedding reception next Friday.
