uBank Referral

Unfortunately, no bank and no one is safe from hackers and scams. I was recently in a bricks and mortar bank branch and two customers in a row were asked by the manager if they were being coerced into transferring very large sums of money! 😳

TBH, anyone with more than $250k in any one institution hasn’t thought through the Government backed guarantee. You’d be wise to spreed your “life savings” - like Super!

I agree this is a great card and have had it for quite a few years mainly for the benefits it has. Despite the instructions, I don't seem to have the ability to setup PayID with UBank (so I use another bank and transfer). Have you managed to set it up?
PayID only works with the "new" UBank, if you still have a legacy account you need to wait until they move you over to the new system (meaning new VISA Debit Card and new BSB/Acc.no)

And what a slow old process moving people across it is.
If, like me, you have Usave and USpend accounts, you're on the old platform.
If they are just called Save and Spend accounts, you're on the new platform

or if you look at your BSB:

- BSB 082-991 is the "old" (legacy) UBank
- BSB 670-864 is the "new" UBank (with PayID)

and completely different apps.

They seemed to have ditched “sweeps” but you can now spend (pay) directly from the Save account.

Guess I'm on the old legacy then. I see on the website (ubank.com.au) you are presented with an option of which UBank which is confusing - the new one didn't work for me so kept with the old one.

What are the ramifications of the sweeps now gone, can you just "ditch" the transaction account or just leave it dormant?

I'll throw my referral code into the mix too, for anyone considering getting a ubank account.

If you use my referral code D2NEJ3X and make 3 card purchases within 30 days of opening your account, we'll both get $20.

I opened my ubank Spend/Save account recently for the no international transaction fees and no international ATM withdrawal fees. So far seems to be going fine, except that you need to call them to notify of overseas travel and the hold times on the phone seem quite high.

Thanks for sharing your codes, here is my code, YRTP6QG, use the app open an account and use the referral code, make 3 purchases using your debit card or phone to get $20.

I'll add mine as well as I imagine some people are thinking of switching given ING's continued devaluation of its banking product.

Very happy with UBank as my main banking account. Good app, solid benefits and easy to use.

Have been using ubank for some time as my main bank account and would recommend them. One of their great features is that you can set up direct debits and make payments directly from the savings account. That way you don't need to keep anything in your transaction account (unless you're using it for daily card purchases).

My code is 42L7YMA if anyone wants to use it.
