UK Air Passenger Duty increasing again and more in 2025

I don’t see the problem with APD going up. If anything it’s good for travellers since it forces airlines to lower their fares to compensate for the APD. Additionally, in many instances it is the airline and not the passenger who covers the APD. One such example is upgrading with points from economy to business on certainly airlines which shall remain nameless for reasons.

But usually they don’t.

If everyone is subject to the same tax regardless of airline, why would they? If an airline is already “cheaper”, they’ll probably continue be so.

Better to just boycott the UK for longhaul departures. Let the airlines complain to the UK Gov that more people arrive than depart.
