Shrek family are on their annual pilgrimage to Noosa then. I would love to come to the BNE wake and can guest 2 to J lounge

We plan to be in on this in MEL and can guest 4 people.

At this stage I will be at SYD and can guest 2. If my GF attends, she can also guest 2.

You plan to arrive on a crocodile?
No:!:

The crocodile just reminded me of Qantas. They will smile at you sweetly and then bite you. No real loyalty at all.

.... and markis10 was right. The picture was taken in Darwin though it was down town not the QP.

I don't think it is something that will be reinstated regardless, purely from an embarassment perspective! To announce something big then later take it back would surely leave them with egg on their face. I think if anything it may go back to being something is published as not happening, but unpublished... other things may happen if you get my drift ;)

Well, I'm not so sure. The way they've done it this time was different than previous. Making a u-turn on things like this can also be seen as 'listening to feedback'.

However, like you said, if they do change their minds, it may become an undocumented benefit. Remember when the J lounge first appeared, they were supposed to be for J customers only, not WP's not flying J or not flying at all. It was quite a bit later that it was confirmed and worded vaguely that WP's can go in.

While I agree lounge over-crowding is a problem, their solution is wrong. Seriously, how many non-flying WP's go there for the hell of it? You get the occasional few, especially with the newly minted ones, but in most J lounge cities, the airport isn't necessarily cheap/easy to get to.

I am thinking of the following schedule.

Saturday 29 January 2011.

Brisbane for breakfast fly to Sydney on Virgin Blue.
Sydney for lunch at the F lounge fly Jetstar to Melbourne.
Melbourne for dinner at the J lounge fly Virgin Blue back to Brisbane.

I have done it before but not the segments on Virgin Blue like this.

I would be interested to join you for lunch and dinner to and from ADL.

If there are no takers in ADL.

:oops::oops:

It would seem that my first born child does not wish to have lunch in the F lounge for their 10th birthday. :shock: According to SWMBO. ;)
:oops::oops:

I'll still get to ADL on the day.

All things being equal I should be up for participation in one form or another - just at MEL, or combined with a little (non-QF) travel.

I keep thinking though of a certain FT-related debacle from a few years ago at a QP somewhere North of MEL - just a very mild concern of history repeating!

BB, I'm interested in the SYD FLounge.

Would have to return back on non-QF though.

I was thinking of that one myself...

Not having the required background, is there any chance of a hint or PM with a link. Just to know the background and how to avoid any difficulties. Forearmed is forewarned so to speak.

I'll be in MEL work allowing... 1 or 3 guests - depends if SHMBO comes and/or makes WP.

Of course, this is until the next enhancement which allows clubs to be closed for "operational reasons".

Never fear, that allowance is already in the rules:

10.5 Entry of Members' guests is subject to space availability. Except where a valid annual guest card is presented, guests may be refused entry if the lounge is full.

10.6 Qantas Club staff have the discretion to refuse entry to any Member or guest at any time if, in their reasonable opinion, the Member has not or will not comply with these Terms and Conditions or the Club Rules, or the refusal is necessary or convenient for the orderly operation of the lounge or other facilities or the safety or comfort of other Members, their guests and staff.
