Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

Thanks Sudoer!
I didn't know it was the first time Velocity Points are being offered, and I didn't know we get a bonus $200 too. Definitely going to sign up with AGL first.

Double check for your address, but I think the $200 is open to all new customers who meet the below eligibility criteria.

$200 sign-up credit for electricity
Get a one-off $200 (GST incl.) credit on your first bill when you switch your home electricity to AGL from another supplier or move your home electricity with AGL.

If eligible for the credit, this reduces the above annual estimate for electricity by $200 (GST incl.).

To be eligible you must:

be a member of the Velocity Frequent Flyer program. Not a Velocity member?
sign up or switch to the AGL Velocity offer as a residential customer in VIC, NSW, QLD, or SA, where AGL operates
provide your Velocity membership details (including first name, last name and membership number) when signing up for the offer, and mention ‘Velocity’ if signing up over the phone
remain on the offer for the first 45 days from connection for sign-up Velocity Points
remain on the offer for 12 months from connection for anniversary bonus Velocity Points (for new and moving customers only)
sign up by 30 June 2024, unless varied by AGL.

Gave AGL online chat a go to see if I can sort out the points not being credited to my account issue and CS was adamant that they couldn't do anything until 45 days has passed though can confirm that i was being signed up to the Velocity offer. I tried to get the CS to at least check the details on the original order to see if I somehow managed to fat finger the account number or name but no dice - they don't have access to the sales order once the service is being provisioned. CS insist that the only thing I can do is give them a call in a weeks time and they can escalate to Level 2 at that point.

AGL also didn't action my gas connection so I also chased them up and turns out they need my meter number yet nobody reached out to me over the past month to grab it. I guess I'll have to wait another 3 months to get the other 10k points.

Overall pretty poor on AGL side.

I called them about this offer and ended up getting the existing customer offer for electricity and 10k new customer for gas because they are on separate bills. Gas will commence after the next meter reading (mid July-ish) so I guess the points are a few months away. I did make sure they had the gas meter number right and all concessions from the govt in place.

I never saw anything for $200, it was always $150, even when clicking your link, but sure enough the credit appeared on my first bill. So elec has gone well so far, 20k VA and $150 credit has made it worthwhile even if they do screw up the gas like Origin did.

My gas points posted today (they took over supply on 6/5 so just under a month, about the same timeframe as the electricity ones).
Same here 10k points on the bank.
Unsure of when gas was connected. Obviously a batch drop.

I connected over a month ago and have received a bill (even though I’m meant to get them quarterly) and no points yet.

I got the 3000 points for existing customers about 3-4 days after signing up.

I changed over a month ago but no points yet. I think I got my final EA bill recently so we should be on AGL now.

I only signed up to Red Energy a few months back. Already received the QFF 15K bonus points. If I sign-up to this AGL VFF offer, could Red Energy claw back the 15K points as I've only been with them for a few months? Thank you.

No chance.

But you may want to play it move to AGL to grab the velocity bonus points then head back to Red energy leaving a 12month gap so you collect their QF points again.

For those coming off the Velocity points + $200 credit deal soon - OVO Energy are doing $150 cashback for new customers ($50 monthly for first 3 months)

For my location (metro Sydney) OVO has a slightly dearer daily supply charge but cheaper usage rate than both Red and AGL.

I am actually planning to do this switch now

I finally managed to get to the right person last week on Monday who knows what he's doing and got this sorted. It seems like the provisioning team actually just put me into the regular plan instead of the velocity offer, despite multiple agent i talked to earlier insisted I was on the Velocity plan.
I got a new email from AGL Sunday morning on a "new plan" and that email's header had the velocity logo on it, the points were in my account when I saw the email and checked velocity.

Email on plan change, with velocity logo and points posted straight away.

Original email on service activation - no points.

Now I just have to baby this again for the 10k points for gas transfer when it actually does happen.
