UpgradeMe pricing and success

Upgrade successful PER-BNE on a 332 at the minimum of AUD300. Booked at T-73 and awarded at T-71. Looked at using a free WP upgrade but better value overall at AUD528 total vs a flexi at AUD643.

As an aside, should WP get a bid discount as most of the upgrade advantages like J check in, J boarding, baggage allowance and lounge access are provided to a WP in any case?

Successful upgrade CNS-SYD at a bid of $185 (min $180). Booked at T-75 and awarded at T-52. Great value considering I was on a $125 Saver & o/way J was $845 at time of original booking .

Forgive me for sound like an absolute noob, but can someone explain what is being referred to when people say T-75, T52 etc. I've fliched through the thread but can't seem to find an explanation

CNS is a great UpgradeMe route - J is usually empty and the cost justified for the length

Definitely good value . i missed out on the way up , by scored on the way back . J completely full both ways which i was surprised with .

Syd - LAX $540 upgrade from Y to PE last week, but missed out on the way back when the offer was $550. Go figure!

I recently bid the minimum ($1000) to upgrade SYD-LAX from Y+ to J and was successful both ways and J was full on both flights once on-board. I was curious if they took status into consideration and read in the terms and conditions that they do, so that may have helped me. My mum did the same flights a couple days after me and bid more than the minimum for Y to Y+ and was only successful on one of the legs (she is only a red member though).

Booked saver lite fare BNE-CNS for $95 back in February for travel this Sunday (Nov 8)

Received email offer on Oct 29 - ignored
Received second email offer on Nov 2 - decided to have a go.

Bid $150 upgrade me. Success!

Must be pretty empty in J this Sunday

I have flights booked for Christmas day, Syd>Melb. No points/complimentary upgrades available but it looks like no reward seats on that flight either as all J seats are still available for purchase.

Thinking of making a min bid when it gets closer to the date.

If all else fails, you can do an ODU if any seats are left vacant, using either points or comps.

Just received my successful upgrade email for my flight from PER > MEL on Friday! 9:45am flight. Min bid is $300 and I put $320 in for me and a friend and we got accepted. Stoked!

Are these upgrades from flexi or Saver tickets?

If its from Saver I really have to look closer at this. I just spent $850+ _and_ 19800 points on an Amex complimentary flight (saver) up to Flex then up to J for PER-MEL return.

Mine was from a saver. I bought a return airfare for $488 return PER - MEL. Upgraded the first leg for $320. I have a bid for second leg in for $320 too but the plane has been changed to a 737 so its **** business and only 8 seats so doubt I'll get it. So it looks like I'll spend $808 for return per-mel with the first leg J. Possibly $1128 for return business if that gets accepted too. Great value of it comes off.
