OOL to MEL, 2:55pm flight back in feb. Paid $200 which I’m now learning that I could’ve bid less and got it! I’ve submitted a bid for MEL to MCY, for $150 - too high as well?

The many examples in this thread would suggest that a bid $5 or $10 above the minimum is often accepted (if there is availability). Given that route is predominantly leisure traffic, I'd be only bidding a small amount over the minimum.

OOL to ADL, 12:20pm departure
Minimum $?, bid $100 accepted T-12. I cannot remember the minimum bid, it might well have been the $100 I ultimately bid. Up until T-24, there were four seats available for selection, around that time two seats were taken. Cabin ended up fully occupied.

Pretty happy with paying a total of $255 for a near three hour flight, very strong headwinds led to a long flight time.

SYD to PER tomorrow morning on the 0915 departure. Bid $300 with the minimum being $265. Upgrade cleared at T-24...I noticed that only 1/8 J was taken as at T-48, so I'm guessing I could have gone absolute minimum but didn't want to take the risk.
I have the red eye back in a week's time, so will see if I can jag that one too.

Bris to Melb yesterday, minimum bid was $90 and put $105.
Upgraded T-12
At the time there was only 2 seats taken, but upon boarding was all full.
Unfortunately flight ended up being delayed 2hrs.

Now something odd has happened and in velocity account under upcoming trips the BRIS to MEL flight is still showing. Not just ones but twice?
One looks like the initial economy, and the second seems to be the upgraded flight.
No pojnt or SC have been issued either, so I'm hoping it's just a glitch and will resolve itself

Onboard now, only 3/8 in J...so I'm guessing people aren't biting on the minimum cost to upgrade these days 🤷‍♂️

sorry if this has been asked, but at what point are UpgradeMes typically sent through? My last one came at T-12 but is this normal?
Mine came through at T-24, however I'd also bid slightly more than just the minimum. There'd be an algorithm, however no idea how it works.

Bid at $150 was declined. Flight then cancelled and virgin provided flights a day later - ended up having to fork out $570 for a Qantas flight. Anyone had success in the past claiming reimbursement in a similar situation?

I've got a bit of an edge case, but I'm sure someone has dealt with it before. I used an Economy X voucher to upgrade a flight to Economy X. I've now placed an 'UpgradeMe' bid but wanted to make sure that the Economy X voucher would be refunded in the event of my bid being successful?

The email specifically mentions refunding cash payments for extra legroom seats or Economy X but hopefully my voucher doesn't dissolve into thin air (if successfully upgraded).

I did the min bid of $245 MEL - PER, so curious to see if that would be successful anyway.

Anyone have experience with Pacific flights?

Flying SYD-SAMOA Tuesday 8 am. 2 pax.

Biz cabin still showing totally empty - hours after all the below scam.

Bid days back at the minimum $200 offered. For a 5 hour flight worth it for sure.

Today go into the ebay bidding war type scam when 'your bid is being beaten by someone else - go higher' and went up and up and up to $250 and stopped - despite the software urging me to bid $500.

'9 bidders and 4 seats left' was their message.

I just left it be, as I feel sure I'd have got it for $200 on the day even if I did not play the bidding game. We shall see.

Biz cabin still showing totally empty.
