mrsdoc got a “happy birthday”
From CBP official arriving into LAX last week (on her birthday).

Having passed thru JFK T8 two days ago, security was hopeless. As they rotated into diffeeent positions on the line, staff were giving different instructions to pax re in/out of bag/tray etc- hopeless, no wonder it was taking so long. Unlike the guy at LAX who was happily issuing clear instructions over and over with good humour. Sure does make a difference.....

I suppose if it's over the limit then it's over the limit.

I'm afraid I have to say that in a similar period of business and personal travel, and a few more countries, Canada is also the country that gave me regular grief at the border!! But I was going there very regularly and they were worried that I was 'wotking' ( as opposed to going on business).

Yes. And I never was. But the limits are quite low vs other countries. At the time: 1.5L alcohol, something like 1-2 packs of smokes, or $200 if out of Canada > 48 hours ($650 if out of Canada >7 days)
