US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Re: US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

This is so true. If I said this on a flyertalk board I would probably be flamed down, but this is why I would pick UA over TG business on any long haul (except for TGs new product) the UA seat is actually pretty good for sleeping on.

agree it's a no brainer... UA business beats TG hands down except for the odd a380/77W

Dumb question....but only new to this:

Is there a spreadsheet somewhere which details all the MPM limits between zones?

see post #256 above!! there is a spread sheet with some common destinations from Australia.

I read pmdg7444's "dumb question" as to mean MPMs between cities in other regions besides ex-Australia (South Pacific). For example, between cities in Asia and North America, and so on.

As far as I can tell, the answer is 'no'. You'll need to have access to ExpertFlyer or KVS, or know of someone who has access, to find MPMs.

apologies if that is the case :) but the answer was still in the aforementioned post :)

Brisbane shortly I am pleased to say

Nice. Also can you please comment on what you hated so much about BR, I recall you weren't a fan.

I'm looking at their TPE-JFK availability for next year, which looks rather generous on LM. And this guy reckons their new J is amongst the worlds best ??
EVA Air Royal Laurel Class

Was your main issue with the seats ?? Perhaps not the best on the 332s out of BNE ?

Cheers

(Excuse the off-topic)

In the time it takes to write the answer it'll have changed!

Currently definitely on BKK-ICN-LAX (this doesn't seem to have had any equipment swaps lately) and also on a couple of Europe routes BKK-CPH is one, not sure of others, but I think these would be likely to change. They still have more on order I think so more routes should hopefully get them. I haven't heard anything regarding refurbishment of any of their existing ones unfortunately. The space is amazing in Business on TG's 777 with 2-2-2 but they haven't made the best use of it with their seat choice.

Seats, food, the fact the crew did not know how to change the cabin temp (it was hot).

I'd be pleasantly surprised if that extended anything beyond US metal. (in fact looking at the promo more closely it refers to day of travel schedule changes and gate changes. I think this is a US air thing. i dont think they're going to notify me of a gate change for a Thai airways flight out of London!)

Not if talking about the SEAT primarily... Lie-FLAT is far more important to some than the frills of soft product...

Some friends recently flew UA J transatlantic - they were very impressed - not just the hard product but crew, food etc. They certainly rated them way over CA & TG who they also flew on the same trip.

I think it depends on whether you're likely to sleep or not!

Something must have changed since I flew with them then, I cant rate them well over anyone except perhaps Tiger.

I've never flown united business, but it's fairly easy to see the product they get given there are no curtains.

full flat bed, same meals (minus soup) and what looks like decent IFE. I guess it's individual preference, but doesn't full flat trump angled bed? by logic it must do... otherwise everyone at home would saw the end legs off their beds!

possibly the one exception would be sq regional business. their service and the type of beds they have selected mean they might possibly just scrape ahead of the UA offering... but it would be a very close call.

I have flown United on the upper deck of their 747 in business and the hard product was great, full flat bed (you are right MEL_traveller it smashes TG), good IFE. FA's weren't as friendly as the Asian carriers that's for sure. I think they actually outdid Thai on the food front too with the food presented on individual plates with no tray and a very tasty beef cheek. Thai's food service leaves a lot to be desired for presentation and flavour. To their credit though the last couple of flights I have used their pre order service and had some great Thai dishes.
