Was wondering if one could go circle pacific if it would break the MPM rules, like BNE/HKG/NYC stop LAX/BNE?.
I cant make head nor tale of that sorry.
You can access the MPM chart via the above link... post #9.
Opening the chart brings up city pairs, line 1 is the arrival city, line 2 is the departure city (it opens for MEL, you can use the tabs at the bottom to change to SYD/BNE etc).
So for your question, use tab 3 (BNE), and JFK is listed in the first column. You'll see it is 14446 miles.
Your total distance, from BNE to JFK cannot exceed 14446 miles each way.
You'll also see from the next column that BNE-LAX is 10755 miles. You return from LAX should also ideally be within 10755 miles (although they may be more generous and allow the distance back from JFK, but it's a 'suck-it-and-see' issue.)
Use great circle mapper to plug in your desired flights, so BNE-HKG-JFK. And get the result. Then the same for your routing home. Marry great circle mapper and the MPM chart together to validate your itinerary.
Interested in opinions on whether I would get the following through US before the consolidation in the future. Believe its within MPM, only thing is stopover is not a OW hub.
BNE-MEL-DOH-JRO(Dest)-DOH-MLE(Stop)-HKG-BNE
I don't think they are that strict on stopovers only being allowed @ OW hubs.
Just call and if they say that HUACA
I made a J redemption last night, MEL-HKG-LAX/LAX-BOS-BUF//BUF-BOS-NRT-ICN-HKG-MEL including segments on CX,AA,US & JL. I have all the PNR's except for CX, however I can only get into MMB to select seats for US & AA. I have tried all the others on all the sites I can think of, QF,BA,JL,CX,AY,LA,QR, as well as check my trip.
Any tips most welcome please, would really like to allocate seats for the long sectors!
Thanks in advance.
You will need to go to each Airlines MMB page to select seats - log in with your PNR and Surname and once done they should show up across all of the others.
CX is very easy to select seats on - I have a couple of flights booked thru US Air in a couple of weeks and had no problems selecting J seats the day my booking was ticketed.
Yeah that's the problem - I can't log in to any of those airlines sites with the details I have for my JL flights (or CX because I don't have the PNR). I will need to call them for the CX PNR i presume, so when I do is there anything else worth while checking with them, does it look like there is a problem because no other airline is recognising the PNR's?
Is anyone else having problems with CX availability - JAL shows seats available, but US agents can't see it?

Need some advice as what I thought was a simple miles booking is not in fact and I am being told it is an invalid itinerary.
Per-Doh - Gru // - Doh - Per
I am told it is invalid because it is not permissible connecting through Doh twice.
I have called twice and spoken to supervisors but they tell me it is straight forward to system will not accept the itinerary.
This is a rule I have not been aware of before, can someone please enlighten me.

it's a ridiculous reason, of course you can connect in Doha twice
my first thought was MPM but then I remembered Perth to South America via Doha is fine.
I am a little suspicious that agent may already be following AAdvantage rules considering USDM got about 3 weeks to leave and the rules do not allow this particular combination of zones ....though I thought Qatar was given a specific exemption
HUACA. You might need to do it a few more times before you speak to an agent who will allow it
Going via SYD and the Pacific exceeds MPM, does it? Otherwise, by AA's chart that is the only way (without extra pricing) to get from Australia to South America.
