US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Thai Airways: just a heads-up. Seems that first class buggy transfers EX FCL have now been stopped. Transfers TO the FCL still available.

Ah well, that's alright. I never got a buggy transfer from lounge to gate. Had to hike-jog half-way across Suvarnabhumi once loaded with bubbly and food to make my flight.

Actually my folks missed out on a transfer to the lounge this year (it was a transit buggy ride rather than departure from BKK check-in). Not a big deal - they made their way amply to the lounge by themselves.

The ground service by TG F is still very good.

details seem sketchy ATM.

My trip was June/July 2012 so a while ago.. You know I don't mind if there is no buggy as long as TG keep availability open now that SQ has played funny buggers!

availability is still there for sq... you just need to ring and request.

I don't believe that's the case. With the disappearance of SQ on Aus - SIN routes except for T-14 I think it is actually gone.

Has anyone called US DM to book something as a bit of a trial run?

I was trying to do so yesterday for a simple BNE/SIN J in May, but never got to the call centre. Must be swamped in due to the adverse weather conditions in the States.

seriously?? wow. that's bad then :(

That's my guess. ANA shows intra Asia C, as does LifeMiles...plus some other SQ routes in C. UA as far as I know shows nothing now...so although everything happened at thr same time it's not the same issue exactly. So ANA and LM both show no C class on Aus-SIN routes unless it's T-14...so presumably the inventory is simply not there.

Here I was thinking the USDM guru had his finger on the button ;)

Has changed things a lot for me....

I guess it all depends on the routes you are looking for.

AFF is primarily looking at flights ex AUS I guess - whereas I use SQ for mostly intra Asia. So as per UA's announcement, and LM availability, I was thinking SQ would be available by calling (LM for example is showing select intra-asia flights for several months in advance).

But i dunno how that translates to calling... will USDM be able to see other itra-asia flights?

Just as a data point, I managed to get onto the call centre with US Dividend Miles and asked - out of pure investigative interest - to book a BNE/SIN J return for 1 pax in May 2014.

The agent said there's plenty of Y available (I think we all knew that), but when checking for J, she checked about 3 months worth of dates and there was nothing. In both directions.

Now most of us who live in BNE who are in this game know what SQ J availability is like, even in (or rather, especially in) May. And we all know that the aliens haven't suddenly invaded.

This is not a good sign....
