That is the process I've always used as well but since Tuesday, it has not worked. I haven't spoken to a human at US airways in about 40-50 attempts. This weather is BS.
but it is understandable. 6500 flights cancelled. Airports closed. tens of thousands stranded.

Yep, and the flip side of that is they really, really don't care about you either!What I mean is, who cares about those stranded? Not me!
Guys, just got through and on the phone to them now. Though showing availability on UA, their system isn't showing anything? Any ideas?

As hummel points out - if awardtravel is only showing Y class, it is possible United is returning phantom availability, but this isn't normally a problem for TG.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been running out other options with the agent. Seems their system might have switched over to OW now. She offered a mix of OW and *A which blew my mind. Problem is I might have to take one option which is CX552 (virgin operated) then UA from SYD to SFO. It is the best connection wise and gives us an extra day.
