I thought that TK only had Y and J, no F?

In days of yore, they leased some 777s from 9W (I think) and they had a rather nice F (certainly, from what I've read, one of the top cabins in the sky where even a glut will be stuffed harder than a prized Thanksgiving turkey).

A couple of years back they had to give back the 777s and they moved to a three class model of J/W/Y, improving J product along the way.

Just did a quick google images search.
Their (TK) F reminds me of TG F (777) and J is sloped.
However, the pictures l am looking at could be very old.

the leased 777s from jet airways are the same as those being flown by TG now, so same F suites and full lie flat business (herringbone). the biz class seats you saw might have been from another 777 or from one of their a330/340 aircraft.

Yeah, looked familiar. :p

I got a email from USDM today just a e-statement but the thing that caught my eye was the bonus 50% on dividend miles multiplier . I remember a while back someone was looking into buying a ticket and then using the multiplier to gain cheap miles after cancellation. This would give you more miles when you cancelled is that correct? So instead of the 3x multiplier you receive 4.5x multiper when you cancel , could someone explain this further to me I'm really interested.

If you read the small print it states that the bonus miles are not awarded if you cancel.

Hi, I have a J return flight BNE - HNL using Div miles.
Can I get Velocity SC or points for these flights?

Also does ANZ J provide PJ's?

with the exception of Qantas Any Seat Awards, award tickets don't earn miles (unless a mistake is made, or unless your flight is cancelled or something and the airlines rebooks you on a normal ticket :))

Air NZ doesn't offer PJs.

I'm guessing you're on the 777 service to HNL? It seems from September the route is being operated with a 767 without business class???

AFAIK all NZ 767-300's have business class. unfortunately they are recliner style and not lie flat beds like on the 777.

the 767s do have business class - but to HNL they are going to the new 'pay as you go' model. A quick dummy booking shows you can buy 'seat only' options etc right through to 'works deluxe' - which is still just economy catering. From the dates I checked, business class was showing as 'not available' - indicating you might get a J class seat, but everything else would be economy. I'm not even sure how USDM tickets fit within this profile... a friend of mine was on a USDM ticket but they were relegated on the trans-tasman A320 to the back of the plane.

They operate with this model on trans tasman in ECONOMY CLASS with 767, 747 and 777. However they still have full business class available. i would suggest they will do the same with HNL. perhaps the system is not fully updated yet.

ok thanks! It is very confusing on the NZ website then. As you say, maybe they are updating their system, or it could be that biz class is fully sold!

When AirNZ operate a 767/777, even Trans-Tasman, business class is normally sold.

It is relatively recent that they have been looking at S2S on their HNL route, so it's probably not bedded down as yet.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

As long as the AKl - HNL is NOT economy but surely not with a confirmed ticket??

no not to worry! It was my mistake it seems. I saw Air NZ advertising their new 'pay as you go' product to HNL and thought that meant the end of business class service! I checked their schedule which seemed to confirm that as business class was shown as 'not available' on the dates i checked when making a dummy booking.

As per the posts above - it seems this is just a hiccup and business class WILL be available.

However - if you want to be double sure - you could call Air NZ to make sure everything is still in order :)

Thanks, I tried to go online but as it is an award booking, I will need to ring them tomorrow morning
