US air often seem to have this 100% bonus deal. Is it back on again from all these posts?

My wife and I have received the targeted offer. We used DM's in June and bought 100K each in the last 100% offer so we have sufficient miles. So I was wondering if anyone would like me to gift them the miles?

Is this allowed on this forum? Sorry if its not, I just thought I could help someone out and keep myself in US Airways good books.

The targeted promo doesn't apply to gift miles transactions.

It was a little odd, but when I called back last night the agent could see the direct SGN-SIN flight, so all booked and ticketed now. It was a little frustrating that Skype dropped out halfway through the ticketing process though!

Since it's my first redemption, I just wanted to check I've got all the details I need. I've got the US, TG and SQ booking references, as well as the ticket number starting with 037. Do I need to call up the individual airlines to confirm, or is this enough? I can find all bookings on the Thai and Singapore websites too. Many thanks!

Sounds like everything is in order - just periodically check your bookings on all 3 websites to ensure that all looks as you expect - US Airways is not always good at informing you of changes!

This forum and the knowledge the members have never ceases to amaze me. Now I've got to decide do I REALLY need 400K miles ;-)

A nice miles balance :)

I'm seriously considering buying miles for a MEL-BKK TG C trip... I can't bear to part with 150,000 KF with SQ :(

So if I buy 50,000 max allowed = 100,000 in account I can't use those to sent my sister to Europe?

Are you saying you can only use them for travel of person named on US air account?

You can book a ticket in anyone's name - so your sister flying on your miles is fine.

No, I'm not saying that. US offers offers 3 types of miles for cash transactions - Buy (for your account), Gift (for someone else's account) & Share (give some of your miles to someone else's account)...the promo only applies to buy.

You can book a ticket for anyone...too many transactions where you're not one of the travellers and the passenger doesn't share your surname MAY attract US's attention - account auditing isn't unheard of.

Got it - she has same surname so all will be cool. :)

All moot tho as this current 100% bonus is strictly "targeted only" correct?

OK. :)

So what on earth is a "gift mile transaction" then?

Buy miles means you pay for the miles and the purchased miles go into your account.

Gift miles means you pay for the miles and the purchased miles go into someone else's account.

Share miles means miles are removed from your account and are transferred into someone else's account; you pay a fee depending on how many miles were transferred.

you should call SQ and on the pretext of asking for a seat assignment, also specifically ask them if they have a ticket number against the booking. SQ is one of the problem airlines. Being able to see your booking with SQ means nothing in itself. A booking will continue to exist even if it is cancelled because it is not ticketed. TG I've never had a problem with. OZ is another one people should call to confirm ticket numbers with.

Just did the SYD-BKK flight with other half in 3EF and flight was excellent! Would recommend for couples. Service was great and so was hard product. The config was ten seats in first, if your seat map shows 14 then that's the really old F . If it shows 9 then that's the newest F. Flight from BKK- FRA was good hard product in private suites but service paled in comparison to first flight. If choosing the suites as a couple choose the middle ones as there is a screen you can keep down which makes things cosy and private. I still managed a bottle of Dom and lots of caviar yum! Next flight is LH from FRA-ICN in F looking forward to choosing my car and picking up a rubber ducky then SQ F ICN-SIN . Will do trip report on my return and thanks again to Mel for the itinerary help and Goldfinger for helping me book SQ F :)

Ture F class is LH. TG pales in comparison! Enjoy the flight!

Has anyone flown TK J yet? Their F cabin (when offered, the IST-NRT service doesn't seem to have F) seems to offer PJ's from what I can see but J doesn't. Just want to confirm.... as I'll need to bring something on board if so!

I thought that TK only had Y and J, no F?

no F anymore... they used to but it's gone now. they offer Y+ which is a carbon copy of CXs regional business class... (almost)... 2+3+2 seating with 46' pitch. but of course not available for award bookings (but can be picked up very cheaply ex PVG to Europe)
