So hypothetically, if ANA for example, shows SQ available .... then it would be a good bet that US would see this as well?

Definitely happy to fly 388/77W J given they have flat products.

Correct, that was how I booked the flights yesterday. Previously TG only ever showed up as options on the legs in question.

Intertesing promotion, can anyone tell me the ratio that Club Carlson transfers at? I had a look but couldn't see anything.

With these types of promotion I'm thinking we may have seen the last of the 100% bonus on buy miles.

This reminds me to share my girlfriends 10,000 miles into my account. $100 to share as opposed to $350 to buy.

This post by Boarding Area blogger "Mommy Points" is quite useful if you want the summary: Turn Hotel Points Into US Airways Dividend Miles With 50% Bonus! - Mommy Points

In short, best value is transferring from SPG (taking advantage of the mass transfer bonus), HH is the worst. PC is only OK.

Note that A|Club is not a transfer partner to US Dividend Miles.

Also note well that you can only earn the 50% bonus once during the promotional period. So make your decision wisely before transferring.

time to change the title of this thread from '100% bonus miles' to something more appropriate like:

US airways with somewhat variable bonuses, sometimes targeted, and not-as-cheap-as-they-once-used-to-be miles :)

Another option might be to have another thred rather than using this one for all comments about all promos that US Air runs.

For the record though given it is now "not-as-cheap-as-they-once-used-to-be" I'm betting that that they WILL have another 100% bonus. It is after not that long since they ran two such (albeit targetted). Agree they seem to be trying all sort of options. What I am still waiting for is a 75% or 100% bonus on sharing, if I was really a betting man would say I think we will get a 75% but unlikely to get 100% again.

Hey All,

After a little routing assistance... Want to make it to YUL in early July (I know I've left it late!) and the obvious options aren't avaliable (YVR, LAX, SFO and AKL) so what are some other options?

Ideally I'd like to avoid an overnight (I think I can do it through ICN with an overnight flight). It seems that all of the flights arrive in the evening, and most of the NA bound flights leave early afternoon so it's almost impossible not to overnight.

Any other suggestions worth looking at?

Thanks!

[I transferred 20K SPG -> US DM on 8/3 and the US DM has not yet posted, so fingers crossed that when it finally hits the US account that I get awarded the 50% bonus.]

Transfer processed overnight and no bonus. Date of transaction indicated 8/3 so outside of promo window, oh well.

With the enhanced MR to SPG transfer rate this is a good way of getting points from MR to US. 40K MR points = 37,500 US Air points so a transfer rather of 1: .9375

Is this factoring in the bonus 5,000 DM you get when you transfer 20,000 SPG to DM?

How is it outside of the promo window?

Website states: And for a limited time get a 50% bonus when you convert your points to miles with participating hotel partners. Hurry, this offer ends March 31, 2012.

We've not hit the end of March yet...

Edit: T&C state Bonus miles will post 6-8 weeks from date of the eligible activity date.

Now... thinking about this one step further, you can do up to 95,000 or so SPG points in 1 day. Could you do a transfer of say 75,000 (with your 15k bonus on top of that) to make 90, thus resulting in 135,000 miles for a cost of 150k AMEX MR? Or is that limit that you can hit each day only be able to be done by 3x 20,000k transfers (meaning you'd only get the 50% Dividend Miles bonus on the first 20k+5k transfer)?

Clicking on my transaction history;

Date : 3/8
Post Date: 3/12

So depending on which date US will use (" Only miles converted with an activity ('eligible activity date') date between March 11, 2012 and March 31, 2012 will earn a bonus.") ...... so only time will tell what date they will use. Fingers crossed they will post in a few weeks [as 12,500 bonus points is worth US$437.50+ at regular buy rates.]
