Thanks for that I wasn't sure if SQ had availability of J ex Adelaide

phew!! simple schedule change. Lovely agent but she came back to say she wasn't confident in changing international tickets and so her colleague was advising how to go through it step by step. She then told me as she was going what she was doing... reconstructing the ticket with 'transit' points for each of my existing flights!! I freaked out thinking she was rebooking the whole thing (and probably in coach too!!). But turned out ok.

My original flight out of Chicago is now coach only. So they offered me First class via New York, or 'since you're now in coach anyway I can put you on a flight leaving 6 hours earlier than planned'. Nice one! (now only a 2 hour transit in ORD). (But it seems i'm destined never to fly an E170/190 in F, this is the fifth time I've been changed over the years.)

Hmmm, finally done and ticked off most of the boxes...

TG J PER - BKK
TG J BKK - CDG
LH J CDG - FRA // Stop
LH J FRA - LAX // Dest
OZ J LAX - ICN
SQ J ICN - SIN
SQ J SIN - PER

So get my first flight on a A380 and first flight on a 747-8 and will probably choose and exit row upstairs which is also a first for me on a 747..

110,000 and $262.75 taxes plus $50 phone booking fee... I originally thought when i put it on hold that the $262.75 figure was the total inc the $50, but those taxes seem a little high??? Maybe not i suppose....

Quite nice! Good for you to be able to hit both Europe and North America in the same itinerary, a pseudo-RTW if you will (except no stop in Asia).

Not too sure. $55 for AU departure tax, then ~EUR 41 for the German air passenger tax... that's still only about 1/3 of the total, so not sure about the rest......

I have a similar itinerary - without a stopover in germany, and the taxes were $212 (plus 50 extra for booking). So maybe as anat0l points out the Euro41 departure tax makes it about right?

Sometimes the agent gets confused and quotes the total (even if it includes the booking fee) and then add the booking fee again... but when the receipt comes it is usually correct.

there is one ticket number for the entire trip (might be two ticket numbers depending on the number of coupons etc). The last digit is not required as it is the coupon number. so you will have 037 xx_xx_x etc then 1, 2, 3 and 4

as the ticket is issued by US it will be 037. Normally you just ask US for this at the end of your call, then call the other airlines. You don't relly need them to confirm the actual number, just that they have a ticket number at all.

A PNR is just that - it is a record of your reservation. A PNR can exist even if all the segments have been cancelled or flown. For a PNR to be valid it needs a form of payment, and that payment is the ticket number.

The ticket number is king. You need the PNRs though for an airline to easily find your reservation.

you should check your reservations frequently. At least once a month, and weekly/daily immediately prior to departure. If there is a schedule change, US will not likely proactively contact you to tell you. If that schedule change means your flights don't connect, or your class of service is not available, you will need to work with US to find alternatives, based on award availability. So the earlier you find out about it the better.

looking at your booking via USDM is not easy. You may need to fiddle with the address in the browser. About 3/4 of the way along is a sting with the date in it. You need to manually change that date to reflect your actual departure date then hit enter.

How do I get my ticket number on TG? I've checked my trip on thai website and it says 'flight 1 confirmed' but where is the ticket number?

I know there are 2 different views of your itinerary with TG (1 is very bland looking and the other a bit more CheckMyTrip-esque), but can't remember which links take you to each one. One of them (the CMT like one) shows the ticket number alongside the passenger name.

I think the 2 ways of getting there are either, 1) the homepage check booking tab or 2) use the link for preorder meals in the Thai Services dropdown menu.

Not sure on the website, but you can call them (the Thai number) via Skype pretty easily, and the person on the phone can confirm with you.

So, use the first one...the ticket number is the 'Document' information:

thaiairways.com...NOT, thaiairways.com.au.

In the centre of the screen there are tabs, International, Domestic, Check Booking etc...can't send a link because there is no redirect when clicking the tab.

It's quite flaky....often says, Not Found, when clicking the tab but you'll get there in the end!

My US Airways ones have never shown the ticket number on the Thai website interestingly but my BMI diamond club ones always have. Don't know if it is something with the different PNR's and booking systems they use. Has always pulled my reservations up fine but never shown ticket number.

That's possible...the ticket number shown in my screenshot is from a LifeMiles booking (202). And I can check it on the TG website using either the LifeMiles or TG booking reference...both work. bmi was also Amadeus so that might be it. Do the US bookings look totally different when accessed from the check booking function...like the bland page you get on the pre-order meal screen??

Yep that's correct bcworld. Yes I have the same with a lifemiles ticket in that it shows the ticket numbers. The US Airways ones just list it all as 'confirmed' for the flight segments. Same reason I think that the BMI and lifemiles bookings can be called up on Check My Trip but the US Airways itineraries can't. Bit annoying really.

Hi All,

I'm struggling with the phone number for us dividend miles - can someone show me how to call the booking agents from Australia.

Thanks for your help - shall let you know tomorrow if I'm successful with the booking

the number in the Membership Guide - which I recommend reading - it's only short (not like the Qantas terms and conditions) and contains routing restrictions, all the fees and cancellation terms and conditions.
