Hey Guys how are you?
New to VA part of my flirting away from QF due to recent experiences.

I recently ticketed a tix - SYD to LAX return in O class.
The refund policy of the ticket suggests 200 bucks cost and refund into a travel bank.

My question is im interested in upgrading the ticket commercially and paying into Business.

My confusion lies now wether the ticket being in Business class then allows me refund eligibility not travel bank as per new higher class of booking. Also without the 200 dollar cost.

The second part of the question is my friend booked his ticket to come with me on his CC . Im happy to pay the upgrade for him on my card. IF we end up cancelling tickets due to our schedules changing, would ALL the refund including the original portion go to my card? Im happy to refund him directly but be good to know how it all works.

Thanks

Generally if you upgrade a restrictive ticket to a less restrictive fare class, the restrictions of the original fare class apply. I am not sure if this is the case with VA but I'd imagine it would be.

As for your second question sorry I can't help with that one.

The original fare conditions apply.

If you booked Premium Saver O class then it is a $300 cancellation fee but your individual ticket should list the correct details for your ticket. For an overview of VA international long haul fare conditions see http://www.virginaustralia.com/cs/g...s/webcontent/~edisp/ftg_ilh_aus_us23feb15.pdf

If by a miracle you receive a proper refund and not a travel bank credit then the funds are returned to the method of payment used at time of booking only.
