Agree with that - I would imagine that services to SYD-HNL are a very nice earner for QF and JQ and with VA trying to sell their return fares on HA metal for $1000 more than the HA fare I imagine that VA are getting no takers at all. For economy SYD-HNL fares without the bundles and extras etc JQ are coming in at $1200-$1400, HA around $1700, VA around $2500 and pure QF Y fares $7000 :shock: (these figures look a bit suss to me)
BNE to HNL and allowing one stop seems more typical - BNE-HNL return VA $1815, JQ $1922, HA $1970, NZ $2621 and QF $3210.
The beauty of launching A330 services to HNL for VA is that it really hurts both JQ and QF and really leave the QF group with nowhere to hide. A tie up with DL may be popular with the punters as well as it would allow a stop and holiday in HNL and other options for entry into the USA besides the dreaded LAX, provided VA don't mind losing money as well.
