With BNE-YVR flights announced today, I’m keen too. I wonder if/when any redemptions will be made available?
Been available for some time. There has been discussion on here about them
Right now I can see availability from October 30th with J availability at the start of November

AKL-YVR resumption was also announced for November. I would assume at least VA's BNE-AKL would've started operating at the beginning of November (Start of the NS season), in combination with a possible UA resumption of AKL-LAX/SFO.

Oh, that’s great! I wouldn’t expect it would be too far away then as they would want some seats filled. I was waiting for F Singapore Airlines but lost patience 😂 . I wish VA was making some decisions about their metal returning internationally to (anywhere!) as I still have thousands with them to use.

Long Haul won't likely to be returning for the foreseeable future (if at all).

Hhowever Short Haul International at this stage is penciled for NS 2022 (October/November), with a decision yet to be made whether if some destinations (notably DPS) returns earlier than the current dates.

Well 🤔 that is a problem. I’m not sure what to do with travel bank. They may extend the expiry, they may not… nearly all of mine TB comes from international flights (in the “before” time). I just don’t need that much domestic travel and it would be such a waste…

When would you expect redemptions become available for the newly announced flights resuming from July 3? They’re available for purchase on the Air Canada website as of this morning.

Got an answer for myself - they’re live now! Business rewards showing as unavailable but to be expected so close to fly date I suppose.

I booked my Air Canada velocity business reward seat Feb 17 for flight at beginning of June. At the time, there was good availability for SYD-YVR but not anymore. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as things come back online.

Does anyone know if Velocity Platinum members still get access to the first class lounge in Abu Dhabi when flying economy on Etihad?

I can't find anything on Etihads website which is usually a good thing to point to when you arrive and the lounge staff are questioning eligibility...

I would suspect other people are booking the reward seats which are likely pooled with Air Canada's frequent flyer award availability or due to high demand they don't see the need to offer them.

Airlines work on a supply and demand model, especially for International.

You could direct them to Etihad Airways’ First Class Lounge & Spa | Velocity Frequent Flyer but it's odd that International lounge access | Virgin Australia no longer specifies its the First lounge Platinum's have access to.

Do Velocity status holders get access to Air Canada lounges? Am finding conflicting answers online. Might convince me to fly with them.

No, there is currently no access to Air Canada lounges for Velocity Gold/Plat.

Where online are you seeing that access to Air Canada lounges is possible if you have Velocity status? This has never been the case.

There's your problem...

Regardless of what any travel site says, VA or AC have never said that reciprocal frequent flyer benefits have been enabled and it's frequently disappointing some of the poorer reporting that goes on in the travel world.
Yes, I hadn’t seen that before
