Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Just got my first Pfizer jab. Arrived there at 9.15am and was out by 10am. Very efficient process.

Long queue (which moved quickly) when I got there. When I walked out there was no queue at all. I guess everyone asks for a booking first thing in the morning.
Yesterday my left shoulder hurt really bad and I couldn't really use my arm. It felt inflamed, but it wasn't. Putting on a t-shirt was a real effort.

This morning it's a lot better.

I got my first Pfizer jab on Sunday afternoon at the Rocklea Vaccine hub, 24hours later I feel ok just a bit of a sore arm.

Trying to decide when to get my 2nd shot, I am hoping to fit in a flu shot and so will need at least 4 weeks from the first pfizer to the 2nd one and hoping to go for a 10km run on the Gold Coast in 4 weeks.

Does any one know of any stretching or other things to give my sore arm a speedy recovery.

Late following up, had my 2nd Pfizer 27th May (a month to the day after my first). Started with high fevers, muscle aches and a steaming headache around 12 hours after the dose. Persisted for a little over a week, also developed chest pains after about 5 days. Blood work etc all normal. Has been sent to TGA as a severe reaction

very happy to be vaccinated though!

Just dropped hubby off at the Sydney Olympic Park vac centre but we had eggs benedict first at nearby Cafe. He was a bit nervous but now I'm waiting for my pick up call.

Eggs bene was really good, might return next week for my jab.

Always loved how Olympic Park continued to thrive after 2000.
The "Benedict" sauce kills most things so you'll be safe!

Had second Pfizer yesterday Monday 11AM. First jab nothing, second jab more pronounced side effects.

This morning felt a bit tired. Same over afternoon when slight headache developed. Chills developed through the day and difficult to get truly warm even now. Early to bed with lots of blankets I reckon.

Had 1st Pfizer jab yesterday 9am, apart from slight sore arm where needle went, similar to flu jab, nothing else.

Seems as you mention the 2nd jab gives your body something to feel. Good I think to get some minor side effects to know you've received something.

No pain no gain? Or am I just being silly, ha.

Reaction = your body generating an immune response = all good :)

Placebo 😂

I didn't receive a card - just a piece of paper. Which no doubt I will lose. This was back in March.

I was complaining to hubby that Sydney Olympic hub doesnt give you a bickie or lolly - Blood bank has snacks.

And no card for hubby, we were wondering if he will get one after 2nd shot but will ask next week when its my turn.

The card we received in Melbourne's Jeff shed.

Both my sons lost their cards but the important thing is that your Medicare record is updated immediately.

The cards are to remind you when to come back, Olympic Park sends you and email, sms and QR code instead. Those cards wont serve as any sort of official proof of vaccination, you will need to use your medicare and or my gov for that.

I got the card and when booking for my 2nd shot was told to bring it in for that.

Heard on the radio that once we download the Medicare records and get both shots we might be able to use it as a passport within Australia (?), to get through border closures. If that's the best we can do in our federation then that might be an improvement from the current state...
