Ok this is an odd one but I'm travelling on Friday out of Brisbane international (carry on only) and am trying to find Vegemite small enough to that is allowed for carry on.

This sort of thing would be perfect:
Amazon sell this (which I've ordered despite being more then I want) however the shipping is giving me sometime between 22 Dec and 24 Jan (not very helpful).

This is one of several flights so buying a large jar air side in Brisbane is out of the question.

I'll have access to both the Qantas and Air New Zealand lounges so I'm hoping that maybe they might have the small things of vegemite that you'd normally find in the breakfast buffet and I'd ask for a few. Has anyone been through either lounge recently and seen any or happen to know where we can get some small enough Vegemite?

Vegemite comes in a squeeze tube but unfortunately this is 140g so I think the alternative is the little portion control tubs which is common at hotel breakfasts etc. Are you staying at a hotel prior to departure day ?
On the departures level at BNE INT there are 2 cafes/restaurants that serve breakfast, maybe they would have some for people who are having toast.

Sadly not, I'm Brisbane based and it isn't even for me (to take to mates overseas who've asked for it).

Hmm I'll have a look on Friday, given I'm flying out at around 10pm might not have any breakfast options on offer however.

You wouldn't be the first person to ask the international lounge person for some Vegemite sachets, late in the evening.

If it turns out you're the second person to ask then I was the first. (And I was successful.)

I’ve bought packets of those individual portions to take away but I can’t remember where I got them and I can’t see online who’s selling them these days. But if you can get some, they‘ll flatpack into a 1L bag pretty easily.

Ah good to know, I'm guessing that was at a QF lounge?

Woolworths used to tell a pack of those 10 portions, maybe check online in your local area.
Yes my local woolworths/coles has none. If I had to guess they don't make them any more in the packs of 10.

As poinited out they're still sold online in bulk but shipping times make it impossible to get at short notice.

Any time to make a brief stop at the QF domestic lounge before heading over to the international terminal?
Yes I could, I guess if the domestic lounge have them I could head there first.

Kind of a odd request because it's short notice, must fit in carry on but at the same time I've got a lot of time to between now and Friday and even on Friday I'll be in no rush.

That being said if the international QF lounge (or Air NZ lounge) has them then no need for domestic and its good to know that others have asked for them in the past.

I've previously asked at MEL, SYD and HKG.
Interesting I’ve been through several overseas lounges and didn’t realise they had Vegemite in the QF HKG lounge.

I’m also passing through the QF lounge in LHR, I wonder if they’ve got it there.

We never go anywhere o/s without our vegemite but a larger quantity in our checked luggage as a few sachets would not be enough.

Particularly when, as has happened on at least three occasions in variius parts of the world, we have been approached by other travellers and asked whether we have any to spare/share.

SYDi first lounge has tiny single serve "tubs".
Whoever it was that decided those tubs constituted a “single serve” of Vegemite was either clearly not Australian, or simply had no idea of the appropriate amount of Vegemite required to satisfactorily cover a single slice of bread.

Yeah those supposedly single serve sachets are too large, way more than needed for 2 slices of toast with butter.

At what point does something become a “liquid”? Vegemite seems no more a liquid than my lipstick.
