Update to the below: Just called Velocity and experienced the worst service I have received from any airline, when quired about the missing points I was told these are not awarded until after the promotion is finished, when I questioned this was told it is in her terms and conditions to which i responded that is incorrect and not what it states on the website, she didnt want to know about it and said amex have different terms and conditions, I then asked to speak to a superviser and she said that she was the superviser so i then asked to speak to her manger and she no you can send an email complaint, to which i did respond by saying that is pathetic and she shound not be in the position if that is how you treat your Platinum members (yes I know may have been a bit irate but she just would not take any notice) she then hung up. To me that is just down right unprofessional, the fact is she was wrong and refused me to speak to anyone else to resolve it. The whole attitude and tone was nothing like I have ever experienced. Can anyone help with a complaints number or is this just to hard for Virgin?
My points hit the Velocity account on the 6th still no second 15% bonus, contacted amex who advised they contacted Velocity who in turn said it was a one off glitch and the points should have posted but Amex was unable to rectify on my behalf with Velocity and I need to call them!!!! So much much for Centurion Service, not sure how Velocity knows my account is Premium but about to find out.
So similar (bad) experience.
I was calling in regards to SC earning when booking under the 2FOR1CC (Virgin [High] Flyer Card) promotion. *** (name masked) from Velocity told me that only one person can earn SC but both Reservation and Virgin Money told me both PAX can earn. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said that she's a supervisor. She even told me that she could not find Terms and Conditions because Virgin Money no longer offer '2 for 1 promotion'. I expressed my concerns and asked for a full refund for the booking just made. She then talked to her manager and said that her manager agreed to make an one-off exception for the booking so the second PAX can earn SC as well. She told me that the second PAX would need to give them a call to have the SC credited. I asked if I can make the call because the points & SCs are pooling to my account and he does not speak English. She told me that the 2nd PAX needs to sign an authorisation form which she would email to me. She promised me three times that she would definitely call me by COB regardless she found the T&C or not. In the end, I only received an email (not the promised phone call) confirming that both PAX can earn SCs under '2 for 1 promotion' without any apology for the confusion that caused to me earlier. I called Virgin Money later and was told that '2 for 1' is still the standard feature of the Flyer cards and what Velocity told me (that the promotion ended) was completely incorrect. It has now been two days and I'm still waiting for the authorisation form...
I was status matched Gold and has already 400+ SC (including 100SC to be credited from AMEX MR Premium 100K pts transfer) which is enough to maintain the status. I was seriously thinking about reaching Plat but have now been scared by their customer service.
