Velocity Double Status Credits offer 1/2/19 [Book by Feb 12, Travel by Dec 28, 2019]

I booked MEL-CBR-OOL for $264 & 100 SC with OOL-SYD-MEL for $282 & another 100SC.

It only costs 4900 Velocity to upgrade each segment.

Other than that, I'll have enough travel, along with Flybuys to requalify WP before May 2020.

Unfortunately had to fly this Sunday so couldn't get the same deals that you got. Still compared to the rest of the year $3 each isn't too bad.

Is Bali considered international short or long haul from east coast? ie 120 or 80sc earn for business saver?

3. Trans-Tasman flights: include all flights between Australia and New Zealand. International Short Haul Flights: includes all international flights from Australia to Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu. International Long Haul Flights: includes flights to Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

I must say that having a review date of 21 Feb (aka new year starts on 22 Feb) makes an offer at this time of year a little difficult to get value out of.

Be that as it may I think I will follow your lead @serfty. I booked a MEL-CBR-OOL-MEL weekender at the start of the offer however have a few days off coming my way in March. I might just use one of them to fly MEL-CBR-OOL-SYD-MEL in a day and enjoy some time in the sky. With freedom airfares it comes to $540 for 200SC, which combined will give me a solid head start on what will be a leaner year.

I think spending half the amount of $ and not sleeping on the floor of AKL on a 4 hour red eye turn back to Australia is a better choice!

Just booked BNE-MEL-AKL-RAR 15/3/19 returning 24 hrs later but same date (international date line) RAR-AKL-MEL-BNE in J class for $1,719. With double SC I will be credited 960 status credits ($1.79/SC)

That's pretty good. I got it to $1752 - but that was with a carbon offset on all (6) segments and I was out of SYD so a bit less SC.. very nice job there!

Didn't fancy an awkwardly timed arrival and wait at DUD (despite the lure of SCs) so ended up booking the DPS run.

Anyone have any experience using WP comp upgrades on DSC fares? As it seems they reissue the ticket I just wonder. Have one left which expires next week so may as well redeem the silly thing and get a dinner if it won't cause massive issues.

I've had upgrades post as Reward flights. Sent in an email got the initial post fixed. Sent in another (after 6 weeks) to fix the DSC part.

Given the terse T&C's of this promotion, this should be fine.

I'm planning on doing so after my period of "assessment" begins in late may. (Assuming I can still find upgrade availability.)

I've got my Xmas flights booked with a WP and points upgrades. SYD-MEL-PER to maximize the SCs, interestingly the first leg to MEL is also on an A330. But if I don't get the DSCs they will definitely be getting a call!

Thanks for the advice with my previous post. All my status credits (including the bonus double)came through together four days after flight. I can see the “congratulations you have retained your gold” on my Velocity .

Help me to understand this one:
1st of Feb: Booked SYD-BNE travel 14/2
6th of Feb: Booked SYD-ADL-SYD travel 8-9/2

I received double SC for my return trip to Adelaide but for trip to BrisVages I only received standard 15SC.
From my understanding T&Cs I should get double SC for that trip as well. Am I right or missing something?

Does anyone know if i make changes to a booking now, will it still qualify for double SC? (i have a short connection im thinking of changing to an earlier flight, originally the flight was booked within the promotion period)

Also, if i just turn up early and hope for fly ahead (loading is looking pretty low on expert flyer, so will likely be fine) will it affect the double SC?

Thanks,

So close yet so far. Did my run on Sunday but fell 3 short.

Have a flight tomorrow which will tip me over into SG. Spoke to Velocity to get the SC’s manually credited and tried to get bumped to Gold before tomorrow but they wouldn’t budge!

Also looking for an answer for this one. I organised my work travel (2 trips) to make the most of this promotion. To be reimbursed, I had to have booked on the cheapest available airfare so now I'll use those 2 trips for personal use and get work to rebook new flights for those original dates.

Did a MEL-CBR-OOL on Friday evening which posted this morning. Used WP upgrade on both legs which was processed within the promo booking period, flights posted with double SC included in the same entry.

In case anyone was wondering.

I had 3 upcoming return flights booked by my work during the double status promo but they didn't add my Velocity number when booking. I had to update booking to add Velocity. I was worried I wouldn't get double SC's as the T&C's say you must provide Velocity number at time of booking. Flew first flight ADL>SYD Elevate on Sunday and double SC's (30SC) posted yesterday!

My next upcoming trip next week (ADL>CBR Elevate) was also booked during DSC promo but we had to change the outbound flight after DSC ended. Booking ref is unchanged. New outbound flight is ADL>MEL>CBR Elevate. I am also wondering if I will still get DSC's on my next trip...

Congrats on the double posts (DSC and your first on AFF)!
