For Virgin, the SC and double SC all post together, with no indication they have done so. I just get double the amount it would normally credit,
Yeah - that is how it worked for me - previous promotions have been the same

So I'm in a fight with them now. My originally booked DSC flight was upgrade (because I bidded) and they said the ticket was re-issued outside the promo period so they cannot give me DSC. What kind of BS is that? What a way to try to conn your loyal members out of SC. I bet they will say my 2nd leg is also not going to qualify because they changed my schedule and has to re-issue the tickets. Garbge

Let us know the outcome, as you have a strong argument given status credits are posted "as per booked ticket" on an UpgradeMe bid.

How often does VA run these DSC promos? I'm QF SG but with a lot more of my business travel going into Asia, I'm thinking I might try for a insta-plat run on the next promo.

Not often at all. Not like qf which gives out status like it's a can of beans
Do they? My impression of QF is that it's harder to get and maintain status than on VA. The threshold is higher and the flights earn fewer credits, don't they?

Usually VA (and QF) run a Double Status Credit promo once a year.

We have seen 3 dsc in 2018 and 2 in 2019 already . I imagine if you booked a long haul flight each time you'd be easily there already

In general, yes. It's much harder to reach Gold and Plat (let alone P1) than VA, but the DSC promotions they've been running make it considerably easier.

That said, you'd still need to fly quite a few times (if Y) to get to Gold or at least 2-4 return trips in Prem or J to hit Gold the first time from nothing.

Update on my dsc not crediting. After my response saying this was an unacceptable outcome another rep looked into it and said it was because of a schedule change and fixed it.

Good to hear as the upgrade should have no impact on the status credits.

My flight last week was a double status credit flight with a successful upgrade me bid - points and status credits (including double sc) posted together over the weekend.

I think it was the schedule change so I would recommend following up if you had one booked during dsc

Taken two return flights in May (MEL and SYD) booked during this promo, usual SC's have posted and now waitign for the DSC to post. What have been others experience?

We're flying this weekend using this promo....
but I flew last week using the more recent promo and the double SC posted the following day

Ah, maybe these posts includes the DSC (well MEL was an Elevate or higher fare IIRC), just wish they'd notate it:

Maybe this one wasn't in the DSC
26 May 1929 May 19Virgin Australia, VA0981, Sydney-Brisbane+545+14
24 May 1927 May 19Virgin Australia, VA0966, Brisbane-Sydney+545+14

but this one was
14 May 1917 May 19Virgin Australia, VA0353, Melbourne-Brisbane+2,364(1,351 + 1,013 Bonus)+40
13 May 1916 May 19Virgin Australia, VA0308, Brisbane-Melbourne+2,364(1,351 + 1,013 Bonus)+40

I know I have another booked in August that was in the DSC...

I was on an elevate fare to Bris & got 40 SC which included the double SC. My points were similar (I'm gold) so I *don't think* you were on a Freedom fare? Super technical analysis, I know!!

I'll go back and have a look, considering it would only booked 2-3 days before travel and I had to travel on certain flights, IIRC the fare was north of $700. I'm also Gold, which accounts for the bonus points...
