I can see MEL-BNE-AKL-RAR for under $900 which is 480SC. Business Saver.

Well for starters it will be $A1800 R/T .. and I can't see where you get 480SC from, even so?

$900 one way is 240SC’s or 480 with DSC’s.
Under DSC’s a RT would cost $1800 and earn 960 SC’s

I have a heap of flights on VA in the next couple of months I need to book and wasn’t really thinking about gifting any golds as we were looking at crediting the flights to DL to assist with SkyTeam status but a DSC offer might alter plans slightly

I'm going try something different for this one. I'll book some Elevate fares and then change the date to the dates I need closer to travel.

Not sure if this excluded in this promotion.

Try to work it out from the table it look like 60+80+80 = 220 with DSC will be 440 SC .

Same I qualified for Platinum in November last year but I'll do a status run after November this year while the offer is still valid...

Thanks Matt. Just booked 4x US trips for wife & family. (yesterday). Sigh... not having a great run at the moment as the (targeted) discount code wouldn't work either (so no 10% discount). Wondering if it makes any kind of sense to cancel/rebook as all fares were booked in Elevate (which allows for changes with no $$ 45 days out?) - travel was all going to be in April.

FYI for flights which include the USA you can cancel at no fee within 24 hours after booking.

So I guess given the wording this isn't valid for flights operated by Alliance Airlines for VA (as they aren't operated by VA).

That's a really good point Bagpuss, was considering booking some flights to see the family but if the Alliance flights don't count it would've been dealing with family and a lack of expected status credits. Double horror!
