There is so many things I could say right now. But AFF has a PG rating.

In all honesty I doubt it will last a month due to there being a predetermined "cap" on how many people VA is willing to match
I think your best bet is to match now
And that is not a good glitch in the system. You might want to read the rules carefully. You will be awarded the exact same SC's as if you'd flown direct. On VA SC's are awarded Origin to destination (although the "by sector" rule still applies to many partners). You may want to rejig that as a direct fight is you're chasing the SCs!
I did the status match in the BNE Lounge on Friday night. It only took around 5 minutes to complete. I took a quick look at the clipboards and there did not appear to be many names listed which does not really mean anything and they may have started a new running sheet.
And that is not a good glitch in the system.
How about if I booked and flew separately BNE-SYD, SYD-MEL and MEL-OOL all in the one day. Would I only get credit for BNE-OOL which is not even a valid sector?

Surely you know the type to which I refer. If you dont have a suit and tie on (I dont even own a tie), then they glare at you, and just eyeball you with the death stare "How dare you enter my exclusive domain"
Therein lies the weakest link with this promotion. Loads of QF PS, SG, WP members get their status matched, decide to give DJ a go instead of their regular cityflyer milk runs and are confronted - like I was last week - with the DJ of old. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" and "no smoking in the toirrrrlettts" and other PA atrocities. Pally joking and frankly irritating giggling and high camp antics (I can say that; I'm gay) among crew as they did their sales run down the aisle. All this on a weeknight flight full of suits who would have really quite liked a drink without having to scratch around for coins to buy one when they've already paid a fare that was comparable to QF.
lol I know exactly the type you mean!
I love walking into the QP on a Friday afternoon in jeans and a t-shirt, and then strolling past everyone sitting there in suits to enter the J-lounge - some of the looks are priceless!
In fact, I think you get more looks of distain from those in the QP than those in the J-lounge!
Thanks, Noob, for your reply. I think I will enrol hubby for Gold with VA status match now. Hubby won't get his Plat with QFF until mid-October, and the promo may be over then When I get Gold with QFF in 3 weeks time, if the promo is still running, I will enrol myself for Gold with VA. Fingers crossed? I don't think Silver worths much.
As a WP, you would be matched to Platinum....
I'd much prefer a status match about January/February so that I could make use of it and have a chance to maintain the status beyond the complimentary 12 months. I guess I can ask VA at that time if they'd status match before I do my next set of bookings. No indiction they'd even consider that though it is clearly benefical to both them and us. Somehow, I think I'll be the one who stays with QF.
No, storyteller is right. It is per separate ticket. Personally i have no problem with it. This would credit as 3 flights providing you didn't somehow book them as a single BNE-OOL itinerary.
a) Has anyone had their status online changed?
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
Did anybody know they actually set up a stand at Westfield Sydney this week to promote Velocity and process status matches.
Even managed to fit in one of those long white bars that glow purple.
...and not to belabour the point, but how good is anytime access?
