Well the login box is back, although it's giving me an error message when I try to log in. I can only assume that means we're near the end of the downtime.

I don't think "Virgin Australia" as an authenticated company rep would say in advance what was going to happen on any given date, lest he be turned into a gelding by his senior management.

I have just been able to login and there is now a couple of lines in my summary about Eligible Sectors.

It looks like 4 sectors are required to upgrade to Silver, not sure about higher levels. I havent looked for what constitutes an eligible sector yet but there is a note that this doesnt come into effect till August 25 2012

Hopefully there are some other goodies that I havent found yet

WTF! Where have my SC's gone! was on a 1025 and now all it shows is my SC's from 1st July being 335

If I have to start over towards platinum by qualifying from my anniversary date and not the rolling 12 months I am going to tell Virgin to shove it.

I have give all my business to VA based on the rolling 12 months qualifier knowing that I should be in the running for Platinum.

Hurry up VA and get your act together and let the public now your intentions so we can make an informed decision. If you can't I think you are going to lose your most loyal customers and undoing all the great work you have done

Same here, I just logged in and saw my 920 SC's were gone and only my 610 from review date are there... NOT HAPPY if this is the case.. Can only hope it's a glitch as it just came back up.

As per the T&C's

11.19 To upgrade to or maintain a Silver or Gold Membership, you need to fly the required number of Eligible Sectors each year. The required number of Eligible Sectors you need to take before your Review Date to upgrade to or maintain Membership levels is:

11.19.1 Silver Membership - 2 Eligible Sectors; and
11.19.2 Gold Membership - 4 Eligible Sectors.

Sounds like some panicking before anything is announced, given the way Velocity has looked after us up till now can I suggest taking a deep breath/drink/pause and relax a tad!

PS - did you miss this bit: Eligible sectors will only be a part of your membership assessment from 25 August 2012

Same here and missing my 1400 odd SCs ...... My review date is Nov 2012 so it's only showing points earned SINCE Nov 2011.... 3months time .....? Website Upgrades.... Gotta love Em.....

If you read the explanation notes it shows that sectors will be needed from August 2012 and will be calculated from August 2011.

They're making changes for the forthcoming changes to the program. The sector count does not matter till August next year.

I am sure in due course, all will become clearer!

I think you will find that the rolling statuses are not gone,just not showing and I am sure VA will advise of any issues or changes asap - their communication with this forum is excellent

Finally able to login. Interesting - it appears that the two changes are:

(a) certain # of sectors required to upgrade and (b) no longer able to see rolling status credits.

The first point is quite common for many airlines - they want you to fly their airline at least x number of times. Seems reasonable, and as others have said it won't matter until the next renew year.

The second point is a bit odd, as Virgin has already made a big deal out of the daily status thing, which appears to be somewhat unique. If we are not able to view it then how will we know where we stand?

Hopefully all will be illuminated tomorrow!

Yep, mine is showing points since September 30 2011. Methinks they really need a test server before releasing this on the production server!

Why not give things a chance to settle down before flying off on a possible tangent :?:

Non of us have any real idea of what it all means at this stage.
