Velocity Offer 'that's out of this world'

Well I did publicly state that I was transferring 0 points to Qantas before Mar 31, and not opting into Direct Sweep:
The Australian Frequent Flyer Online Community - View Single Post - Dump points in QFF progarm Feb or March

Commbank points are now sorted. Amex points will sit there until I find something to do with them.

I'm the same, also. Unless I can scam a free upgrade on my Citibank VISA to a Platinum, then my days of transferring to QFF are all but numbered.

I'm keeping my CBA card for Velocity also. I think I'll prob save up for an EK J flight or V Aus somewhere in J.

My AMEX points will be used for SQ or VS. So nothing to QF. (Prev I was sending CBA 100K pa to QF)

Citiplat's lower minimum and 1-to-1 (I think) means I'll top up existing qff points to put one last hurrah on the red rat. The rest are for Velocity because the Mel-LA flights suit the ski trips.

off topic, but if anyone you know wants cheap skiing in the US, Velocity has the 47,000 point deal, Alpine Meadows Ski Resort has a $159 'rest of season lift ticket" and Heavenly has a $329 'remainder of 09 lift ticket + all of the 09/10 ski season' ticket.

And points are in my velocity account (including the bonus). They are quick movers!

Noticed yesterday that the rewards page at Citibank online has a giant Velocity banner for this promo, and when you click on the "Travel & Adventure" category listing, Velocity is listed first and Qantas last. Had to ring Citbank today, their phone line recording include a promo for Velocity promo.

With Citibank and Velocity seemingly so chummy, when can we look forward to a decent transfer rate of at least 1:1 (or better)?

Interstingly, ringing in at 8.30 this morning to the Citibank Platinum line, it took me 32 mins to get through. Explanation is they are rushed off their feet due to Qantas redemptions and enquiries.

CBA Awards tell me that my card cycle will see points allocated for late March-late April after V's deadline expires. Drats.

But if I was with Qantas they'd top up my points to the minimum necessary to send them off to Qff. (Maybe CrazyDave can take note on what Qantas is doing). However they can't do that for Velocity (though they say they'll look into circumventing that, maybe by fast tracking the allocation of my cba awards for March-April. Fingers crossed.

Did I hear on 3AW rightly that qantas is selling planes and retrenching staff? Will its award seats get cut back too?

I presume if they cut capacity, then their will be fewer seats flying = fewer award seats.

Has anyone else had issues transferring out of diners?
I tried to do it online but got a letter a few days after trying the transfer asking for me to contact them to work it out
